Hi Kings fans, after getting an extended look at Whiteside, would you say he reminds you of Deandre Jordan?
I think their bodytypes are alike, their (lack of) maturity level too. Even their drafts (projected lottery at one point, then sldie to the 2nd round) and current situations (Clippers brought in Camby when they had Kaman, WS is stuck behind big bodies too).
Thoughts?

Re: Whiteside & Deandre Jordan
Jordan is more raw than Whiteside currently.
Whiteside seems to be a defensive-force years to come. And he can hit the mid range shot surprisingly. Kinda reminds me of Camby in general w/o the good passing abilities that Camby possesses IMO.
Jordan is more athletic and has similar physical abilities as Whiteside. But if I would choose between the two, I pick Whiteside. Because he will try to prove everyone that doubted him wrong (he is a chip on his shoulder type of player. There is a reason why he is wearing the #33..."draft position") and he is surprising smart for a young big man. He is well spoken. That's an underrated quality of success for big young big man.
I could be wrong about Jordan but Whiteside seems to be the better player now. More polish (if that's possible haha)

Thanks! I'm going to keep an eye on WS. More polish possible? Is it possible to be less polsihed then these two?

Re: Whiteside & Deandre Jordan
both guys are very raw... Hassan's shotblocking instinct is good though but his man D and over all feel for the game is not there... the guy seem's lost on defense and gambles too much on blocking every shot leaving his man open for a putback or an open lane.... Hassan needs to get stronger as he gets easily pushed inside...
Deandre is more athletic and bigger than Hassan but also gets lost on plays and defense... so far both have poor basketball I.Q.
overall i think there are some things/areas that resemble both these guys (mostly the negative side i think) but both also have different strengths....

But to be fair, I think both of these players are around the same level in terms of talent and potential. Whiteside and Jordan have weaknesses that they can improve upon.

OK, cheers for the heads up guys. You're going to have a lot of fun seeing him pull highlight reel plays out of his ass and he'll get you grey hairs watching him blow plays on D, if he's indeed anything like Deandre. I'll be watching as much Kings games as possible this year, I love the 'rebuilding' you've done, and I'm hoping Evans and Cousins won't follow in the footsteps of my second favorite duo ever Anderson/Coleman. (GP/Kemp = #1).

Whiteside and Jordan have similar body types!? Maybe length wise but Jordan is built like a brick ****house.

I should have been more specific.
I was talking about length-wise i.e. wingspan, reach and etc..

Both of these guys are raw and neither of them have reached their potential. Both can go either way.
For the first time in my life I realized that I was truly happy.......then I remembered I was drunk.
