easily Casspi........ when he got starting minutes and without Martin in the mix he was averaging like 16 points and 7 rebounds. Greene had flashes in several games went off in some but i like Casspis potential more i think hes gonna be Manu Stojakovic while Greene to me is Rashard Lewis Magic version 08-09 one.

I don't think this is "easily" Casspi (or Greene's) starting job. I really feel that Greene will be the better player, but they both are good. Even in the VSL one player didn't emerge as a clear starter.

This is tough, I am just glad that we're in a position where we can actually choose, because honestly I think they'll both turn out to be great players. I just hope when the time comes, and the starting spot is taken that one of the 2 is going to be "ok" taking the backseat - hope it doesn't cause any locker room issues/resentment between the two.

My bet is on Donte "Buckets" Greene.
I really like his potential. He's 6'11", he Can knock down the three (Casspi can as well), and is very athletic!! I just love watching Donte and his crazy slam dunks. he really impressed me during the VSL. Maybe a little bit more then Casspi.
And I think his Chemistry with Reke, Thompson, and the rest of the team is stronger then Casspi's.

But this is a tough one, because both Casspi and Donte show sign's of brilliance.
they also have their sluggish and inconsistent games. It's going to come down to who plays the better Defense, and who is more consistent during the season.

either way they are splitting time with eachother and Garcia. Too bad Tyrekes suspended for the first 10 games. Apparently its worse than Beasley admitting to taking marajuna all his Heat maybe college days and he hasnt got a fine yet but KAAHNN did lol worlds coming to a end

It's not easily at all, it's pretty close.

Though I think Greene is the better player but Omri will start at the beginning of the year.

Casspi should definitely start.
Greene's game makes much more sense coming of the bench as the energy guy....

Makes more sense to who? It didn't even make sense for Casspi to start based on Casspi himself at some points last year. Look sometimes the argument isn't who is better but who's playing better. Casspi started well but it didn't end well. If you're drawing a conclusion now I think it's based on your preference and not game play. Neither guy has made the case to have a defined role cemented on this team.

For me it depends on which casspi we see. Is he the team player that he was for much of last season a guy who recognizes his role and doesn't force the issue while giving tons of energy on the court. Or, are we going to see the casspi that steals rebounds away from a guy who's close to getting a triple double, and forces the issue and plays very selfish during summer league. If the 1st casspi shows up I prefer him as our starter because I think greene can be a more explosive scorer with the 2nd unit as one of the major offensive weapons, if the 2nd casspi shows up then I want greene starting because he has been buying into his role and seems to be willing to accept whatever the coach asks

I don't know where he got that from, because the only thing suspended is his driver's license. He hasn't been suspended by the team or the NBA to this point.

As far as Greene vs. Casspi, I don't know who is going to win that battle. Both have shown flashes of their talent, but neither have proven themselves by playing at a consistently good level across an entire season. That is sort of expected though, since Greene didn't start getting a decent amount of minutes until last season and Casspi is coming off his rookie season. This season will hopefully go a long way towards helping us figure it out. Whoever is the loser in the battle for the starting job will still have an important role to play though, and should keep their head up since they are still pretty young with a lot of room to grow in the future.

maybe its untrue. It should be 5 games at most, 10 is a really extreme

It says he should be suspended, but doesn't mean he will.

There's a distinct difference between an opinion piece from some random writer and a true, factual, official announcement from the league or the team.

You just linked an opinion piece from someone that says he thinks Tyreke should be suspended. Not only that, you linked to a website that until very recently allowed anyone to sign up and write articles, hence the name "Bleacher Report".

My vote is Greene. I think that Casspi is an overall better player and his greatest attribute is tenacity, energy and desire- all things you want in a bench player. The role that I envision for him is a Manu Ginnobli type with Greene starting off for defensive match ups and some showtime plays. In the end, I think it depends on the day when it comes to minutes, but overall I would want Casspi on the floor maybe 3-5 minutes more than Greene.

Garcia, hahaha.

If it's between Casspi or Greene it's a toss up. Whoever does best in camp is my guess. My money would be on Casspi just because he's more polished right now.

Westphal will start a different one each game so it doesn't matter.
