Howard Works Out Wiith The Dream

Post#1 » by zapatasblood » Tue Aug 3, 2010 2:19 am

Magic center Dwight Howard has made big strides on offense this offseason thanks to his workouts with NBA legend Hakeem Olajuwon.

Howard plans to spend another week working out with Olajuwon before the season after spending time with him in Texas during the NBA Finals.

"Basically, what he was saying was I have to become a person that is not afraid to do anything on the floor," Howard said. "He said right now there's only certain parts of my game that I'm not afraid to do, but other parts I am. I have to be able to do all of those things, basically. That's the biggest thing I took from him.

"I just think he was watching and seeing me play for a while," Howard added. "All the things we worked on, he was just wondering why I never used those things in a game. He saw all the things that I could do, and he was very impressed. He said that I cannot be afraid to do all these things."

Funny that Howard would rather travel to Texas and workout with Hakeem when Patrick Chewing is assistant coach and suppose to be the one bring up Howard. Then again Hakeem is a Bentley and Ewing is a Honda

Just a testament to how great Hakeem was in his generation when the Big men roamed the hard wood and the NBA was filled with true centers

Well I would say he's more of an Acura.

Hakeem should be tutoring Jordan Hill and Patrick Patterson instead

I know you're kidding, but he's been courtside at quite a few games and has also worked with Yao (who couldn't handle his 45 y/o footspeed)

the team was willing to put up a statue of the guy outside the arena. why would he be bitter. it's not like he entered the HOF as a Raptor. and it's a little early to say PP sucks.

not funny at all. Hakeem much better overall player than Ewing. And as a Magic fan, Ewing hasnt been able to really develop anything with Dwight since he has been there. He had more development under Clifford Ray when he first came in the league. I love Olajuwons game and anything that Dwight can learn from him will be great.
