One could easily interpret "this is it" with "this is my last year, and that's it". Either way, it's Favre, he changes his mind daily. While I would love for him to finally be done cause I'm sick of hearing about it, I figure he'll play as long as he can walk and throw a football.

Is it just me or did he never have a change of mind this year?

Seriously, does Favre have to personally write on a piece of paper that he is never actually indecisive and just plays these games to get what he wants and put it in front of people in their faces for them to understand the fact?

The evidence is officially here now. The guy whispers retirement, hides while everyone talks about him retiring and the Vikings scramble to decide on a new offer, then gets a bigger contract offer and hemagically appears an hour later after hiding the previous day.

Guys, he has never been indecisive, he has had a plan every time.

2008 was to skip training camp and possibly more such as be able to play GM/God. Probably also that he didn't want to play under TT anymore.
2009 was to get out of his Jets contract to go to the Vikings and skip Vikings camp.
2010 was to skip even more training camp than he has before and get more money.

Yet every time, people take him at face value.

Say what you will, but Brett and Deanna are amazing at playing the media, and the general public. This much is clear after all of this drama, year in, and year out. I don't doubt that he's been indecisive at times, but he's parlayed it into every increasing exposure, endorsements, contract paydays, etc. Even after all of the crap, he's still one of the most beloved figures in American sports.

It should be pretty clear by now, though, that we shouldn't believe anything we hear, even when it comes from the horses mouth.

I'm very intrigued by the contining deconstruction of this public persona Favre has put on for so long. I am encouraged by the fact that the people actally buying his BS are the minority now.

This morning, the sidebar of ESPN had a "Do you think Favre's antics this year are a ploy for more money?"

No: 70%
Yes: 30%

Seems like some people will still buy this stuff after the 3rd time around.

It's absolutely amazing at some of the pull or brainwashing that ESPN has on its consumers.

If I were a Vikings Fan and esspicially a teammate or coach and I saw Brett Favre down in Hoedounk High School working out with the Highschool kids and showing the receivers how to run plays and break off of coverage I'd be totally pissed.

He's under contract for 13Mil and will end up getting more and he's gonna be down working with high schoolers. Don't make me out to be an ass, if he were really retired and wasn't going to play and wasn't under contract that would be wonderful to see him spending time with the kids. But we all know he's going to play, we all know he's under contract and to see him **** around when he could be sharing that knowledge with his own team and working on getting better with his team is a real insult to team sports.

This is a Brett Favre version of a holdout. Him seeing huge cash being thrown at rookie QB's and others, he wants to be paid like an upper tier QB except he wants to pretend he's not pressuring the Queens for a bunch more cash because after all Brett only plays for the love of the game. He tells us this all the time.

Plus, it's amusing how Favre is saying his ankle is just holding him back right now because it hasn't healed like he wanted. Why isn't he rehabbing it then under the supervision of the Queens doctors instead of chucking passes to some high school kids?

I will say though i'm loving all of this. While Favre pulls the Vikings strings through the media, the Packers have a still young franchise QB in camp behaving like the ultimate professional. As crazy as this is to imagine, if Rodgers can lead the Packers to a Super Bowl title one of these years, IMO he'll end up going down as a more popular Packers QB among fans of Wisconsin than Brett Lorenzo Favre. The same Favre that about four years ago was an icon in Wisconsin of epic proportions and the same Aaron Rodgers who had many Packer fans yelling you suck at him after taking over for Brett. What an absolutely incredible change of events and the destruction of a legacy almost at the level of what LeBron did to himself.
