That sucks for him. It would've been cool to see him play for team USA.

Brooke Lopez withdraws from USA Basketball due to not fully recovering from a bout with mono and will be replaced by Javale McGee.

Lopez informed USA Basketball officials that he doesnt believe that he is in good enough condition to participate in training camp next week in New York.

At least he's got a good reason for not taking part. I know over at the Blazer board we were PISSED when LaMarcus Aldridge didn't even bother to try out.

They should go and sign Etan Thomas Power forward/center since Brook is still recovering.
Sounds like he won't be 100% when training camp starts.

Etan Thomas...the guy who played 23 games last year and averaged 3.3 ppg and 2.8 rpg. Is this the Etan Thomas you're referring to? I'd rather have Zoubek start than sign Etan Thomas lol.

As if he can do any better.
Zoubek should only play if someone's injured or we need fouls.

I'd rather get Chris Wilcox but as far as free agents go Etan's the veteran glue they could use.

Yeah usually I'd rather not see our guys play (if they are older or injured) but he is young and I think that would have been good for his confidence.

But no big deal it's now all about getting him ready for the real season. He is going to an allstar next year no doubt in my mind.

I'm not surprised he hasn't fully recovered. I'd rather him not play and save his body for the season than to stress himself.

Great, good move by Lopez. He knows he's not healthy so why not keep improving this off season and avoid the risk of getting hurt....I mean look what happened to Beaubois today.
