Mcgrady

Post#1 » by fnasser » Thu Aug 5, 2010 1:00 am

some of you will just get straight to bashing him saying hes a quitter , injury prone, bad teammate, blah blah.

not saying some of it isnt justified but i think denver fans should push for making a move like getting tmac

i know u guys have afflalo and jr along melo, but afflalo cant make plays like tmac and jr , while his athleticism trumps tmacs , his basketball IQ doesnt compare. also george karl loves tmacs game.
and i think tmac would feel very comfortable playing with melo, little to no pressure on him

im not saying hes a sure thing, but he really is a low risk high reward. some knock tmac on being a risk cus he might be disruptive in the locker room but that wont happen when u got a guy like chauncey to keep things cool

just a thought.

I'm cool with Mcgrady on the squad. Personally I'd be chasing larry hughes, kwame brown, and mcgrady right now. I'd like to see 2 of the 3 picked up if they can swing it financially. i'd take all 3 though.

Exactly, I personally like TMac and think he'd strive in a role he'd serve on the Nuggets... the problem is he insists on starting... sure we could potentially move Afflalo to the bench and start TMac but I wouldn't want to do that personally....

I'd prefer Xavier Henry, he should be able to be gotten for cheap now and is younger/ cheaper

With or without JR, I'd take him. JR can rot on the bench.

i'd take a chance on him, as a backup or a starter. (or a starter that rests early and plays a lot of backup SF)

kmarts shown surprising athleticism after double microfractures. tmac may be able to regain some form of himself after just 1.

i think after he **** it up in chicago with all his talking, he would be willing to come off the bench (chicago even said he looked good in the workout . shot well , moved a little slow but thatll improve)
and i honestly do believe hell be on his best behaviour and the fact that karl loves him that he would eventually earn a starting spot.

i like the Billups/Mcgrady/Melo/Harrington/Nene line with lawson jr afflalo and andersen and martin off the bench?? tight!

its too bad i havent heard any rumors about this.

someone get the word out!

T-Mac would be a good fit mainly because if he's on the floor with Billups, he'd help him alot with playmaking since he's such a great/smart passer, and when Billups is resting, he can takeover along with Ty..and btw T-Mac never said he minds coming off the bench, he prefers being a starter (of course) but he's ready to work his way up

He DEFINITELY hurt himself in Chicago - not only with the talking but the grandstanding for the media. It was supposed to be a private workout but TMac told everyone in the media & made himself the center of attention.

The workout was private & media was banned from it - so there is no report on how well he did. He says he did well & the Bulls did not agree or disagree.

In my opinion, the key was Bulls brass felt that TMac would not be happy unless he was starting.

That's actually not true... in the beginning of the off-season he actually was an idiot and said "he wouldn't work out for anybody, he didn't have to prove himself and wouldn't come off the bench"... obviously after seeing a lack of offers, he changed his stance but when he finally looked like he had a deal (which would've been ideal for both sides actually) he was asked about coming off the bench and kept saying I think I'll earn the starting spot, while it might be true, the fact is that he still didn't seem comfortable coming off the bench....
I think he's smarter than AI and prob would come off the bench, it's just he seems to really prefer starting...

Thing is, on the Nuggets, he could actually start and provide some more firepower to an already strong first unit.... but I think Karl is right in that it's good start off the game with defense, hence DJ and Afflalo starting the past two years and I'd rather start AAA than TMac, but it certainly isn't a deal breaker....

But then again I doubt a brand new GM would come in and sign TMac unless if Stan rly pushed for it, because there is a high risk of volatility and not enough minutes to satisfy him (barring a trade)...

that 1st paragraph is basically what i said..he wants to be a starter but if he gets no offers which seems likely now, he will accept coming off the bench as long theres a possibility he starts later during the season..and personally, I think he'd be better off the bench because this past season whenever Billups was resting, the players would seem lost and some would start chucking shots all over..and t-mac is a great playmaker & experienced so he can actually help us

That's what I dug up.

With Detroit, T-Mac agreed to be a reserve behind Prince and Hamilton unlike for Chicago with Deng and Brewer.

Will Bynum also trained with him in the summer and said he's been solid.

This is a low risk, high reward move that came out of left field.

Piston fans are focused on getting a young defensive big to pair with Greg Monroe, but T-Mac has the potential to be a solid contributor.

If he doesn't pan out, he'll be cut.

But he's playing for a big contract and is out to prove himself.

Seeing that he changed his behavior after Chicago, T-Mac is showing he's much smarter than Iverson.

I think TMAC would be a great fit here in Denver... I'm sure hes opening his eyes and starting to realize that he is just a role player now (one heck of a good one too)
