At the rate Bautista's average is increasing, he may be shooting for the triple crown...

I kid, of course. But this is something else watching this guy hit...
Nick Nurse recounting his first meeting with Kawhi:
“We could have gone forever. (Raptors management) kept knocking on the door and I was like, ‘A couple more minutes.’ Because we were really into it."

You have to love Cito and his Sunday pooch lineups. Back in the day, he used to get a lot of heat in the media for it when one time all of a sudden Darnell Coles hit 3 HRs in a game against the Twins. Ever since then he has this smug attitude like "dammit how many world series have YOU won?" and just writes out a stream of consciousness lineup card for a lot of day games.

Since Lewis is sitting and Snider is in, he has to put Snider at leadoff. The theory being that if you move others away from their normal spots it will mess with their heads. Like it would have just blown Yunel Escobar's mind to see his name in the leadoff spot today, messing him up for weeks.

Just a theory but Cito's managerial style has been hugely influenced by some of the loose cannons he had in his early years (George Bell, Gruber, Stieb, David Wells, even Tony Fernandez). A bunch of key veterans with fragile egos - he managed to get most of these oddballs to get on the same page and he's treated everyone like they arrived on the short bus ever since.

Buck to the 15-day DL

Hard to avoid JPA now. A perfect trial situation.

Does A- Roid realize he is now responsible for the callup of the player that is going to beat his homerun record?

Absolutely have to give him a shot here.

Buck holds the last spot in the Elias Type-B category, but he holds it by a sizable margin...Kelly Shoppach is the only player within reach, and he's barely playing. So even if Buck gets relegated to backup/DH vs. lefties status, he'll still be comp-eligible (and very unlikely to take arbitration if he's going to be on the bench in 2011).

The secondary question: whose spot on the 40-man does Arencibia take? I'm guessing that either Rommie Lewis or Luis Perez gets outrighted.

Nope, that's fine; I'd say that it deserves its own thread.

Cool, we finally get a look at JP. I wonder when he'll make his appearance.

Going into Jankee stadium and getting two convincing wins is good enough for me.

I was visiting NYC with my gf and convinced her to let me take her to a Yankees game. Even though the Jays lost it was awesome getting to see ARod's 600th HR in my first ever visit to Yankees Stadium. I'll be saving the ticket stub for sure.
