Shaq signs with the Celtics!

Post#1 » by basketballwacko2 » Thu Aug 5, 2010 3:21 am

Ok now that they have signed Shaq and JO they might just be willing to do this deal. Rasheed Wallace and Glen Davis for Dunleavy. He would give them depth at the SF/SG and since they also resigned Daniels who is very brittle they are gonna need a solid swing man.

Rasheed retires and we cut him leaves us Davis and some room to sign Earl Watson. 8-)

Wouldn't they rather have Murphy, and wouldn't that save us even more money?

They'd still need Murphy to spread the defense some more and somehow free Shaq in the paint.

That team has 6 all-stars. Well 4 past and 2 present (Pierce and Rondo present). I am really looking forward to seeing how they put it all on the floor but can you imagine if JO has a half decent season and stays healthy,
Shaq continues has last year steady productivity and the boston 4 carry on from last season.

I don't know they may like Murph better but I thought with the addition of Shaq and JO they don't really need him all that much so Dunleavy might even them out a little better.

Didn't Rasheed Wallace already file retirement papers back in late June? If he's on the retired players list, then he is no longer eligible to be traded, if he's not then I guess this trade COULD work (although I don't see it happening at all).

The Celtics aren't going to trade Big Baby. He's a fan favorite and is one of the very few young pieces they actually have for the future.

I don't think Wallace has made it official just yet but I heard the idea a month ago and that they might be willing to deal Davis, IDK if they would go for this or not but I'd offer it. If Wallare retires and comes off the books and we don't have to pay him we save big money. Now if we have to pay him any how even if he retires then it's not as good, but he comes off the cap number I believe.

A couple of years ago in my fantasy league a guy drafted Jermaine O'Neal and Shaquille O'Neal as his 2 centers. He then dubbed his team "Irish Centers."
Yep... That's all I got for you.

This season you could call that team the Irish Setters. Because the sun has set on both their careers. Because they're both dogs now. Because the Celtics' mascot is an Irish dude. Or all of the above.
