This is geting hard. But i am going with a big man how can do it all.

With my 9 pick i take
Paul Gasol 7-0 C/PF 2009-2010

Regular season
avg
18,3 pts
11,3 reb
3,4 ast
1,7 block
54% FG
79% FT

Playoffs
19,6 pts
11,1 reb
3,5 ast
2,1 block
54% FG
76% Ft

A big man how can pass, play hard, score inside and out and have a big basketball IQ.

This was a hard pick there were some great players from the 50s but the game was so diffrent there and there stats was somtimes cracy. But i did never seen them play so i go with a player that i have seen over 200 times and know what i was geting.

It's funny that we are picking like a real GM would make there team. Outside of the few guards that no one in there right mind would pass up (Kobe, Magic, Jerry) - Big mean are dominating. Good picks guys.

All facts are for Lakers All-Time

Interesting Facts About James Worthy:
Outside of that fantastic season that he was picked for, he was always a solid competitor. He's not top 3 in anything in Lakers All-Time, but he is top 10 in almost all of the important All-Time categories.

Interesting Facts About Pau Gasol:
Pau is top 10 in PPG, RPG, BPG and Player Efficiency.
Pau is number 1 all time in True Shooting %.

More about Worthy and Gasol
You always know what you are geting from them when they play.

Gasol last two season are simular but i think he playe better D and more clutch last season.

Worthy had simular numbers for many years
1985-86 20pts, 5,2 reb, 2,7 ast, 58% Fg, 77% FT
1986-87 19,4 pts, 5,7 reb, 2,8 ast 54% Fg, 75% FT
1987-88 19,7 pts, 5,0 reb, 3,9 ast, 53% FG 80% FT and finals MVP(he had a great playoffs)
1988-89 20,5 pts, 6,0 reb, 3,6 ast 55% FG 78% FT
1989-90 21,1 pts, 6,0 reb, 3,6 ast 55% FG 78% FT
1990-91 21,4 pts, 4,6 reb, 3,5 ast 49% FG 80% FT
Then Magic start playing and his number went down a litle
1991-92 19,9 pts, 5,6 reb, 4,7 ast 44%Fg 81%FT
1992-93 14,9 pts 3,0 reb, 3,4 ast 44% Fg 81% FT
1993-94 10,2 pts, 2,3 reb, 1,9 ast 40% Fg 74% FT and this was his last season (just 32 years old).

James Wothy one of the Lakers greatest players and always fun to watch.if i would have pick a year then i would have pick 87-88(just rembember game 7 against Detroit) or 89-90 - but most of the years are simular so 86-87 is a good pick)

I am researching old Lakers players, and I feel like a nerd, but I also feel like my knowledge of Lakers history has grown ten fold since this began.

I am a big Lakers fan and i own many books, dvds and some VHS about them. For this draft i pick my top 50 Lakers players just for fun and i have to say the Lakers have had many good players and i am not just talking about superstar.

Yeah - there are a lot of players that I've never heard of that played one or two seasons and got 14 and 8.

We haven't had many great pass first PGs though (of course the few we had were GOATS), that surprised me.

Oh, wow... Really?

There goes my strategy...

Just curious then, why'd we pick a season? Just so we put a little more thought into it?

It makes it more interesting. It's why James Worthy didn't go before Shaq. Shaq's Lakers Career <<< James Worthy, but Shaq 2000 season >>> James Worthy 85-86 season.

So while I was sitting here bored for an hour at my sister's apartment waiting for the Samsung guy to come and fix there TV, I put together a list of 90+ Lakers Players By Best Season (not including those already picked). I should be set for when I go on vaca haha. I'll share the file (I have it backed up on google docs) once this is over.

All I can say is rounds 8-10 are going to get obscure haha.

It only took about 35 minute tbh - just find a list of lakers players and pick the top out of each category haha. I got side tracked a lot though.

Wishful thinking, but I thought I could of got Wilt at my spot . Interesting choices so far, Kobe 02-03 going number one certainly surprised me. George Mikan still being available is surprising also, but I could see how no one would want to pick him.

I was hoping for Baylor - I would have gone Mikan over Pau/Worthy personally.

I was thinking about Mikan. But he was 6-10 playing in the 50s and there were many shoots and rebounds for the taken. I never saw him play(and i dont think anyone in this draf has) but i think he would not have those number in NBA today and the game has changes so mutch so it was hard to pick him.
But i think he will go soon.

my pick:

The leading scorer on the 1971-72 Lakers squad that finished 69-13 and is on the short list of teams considered for the title of "best of all time" wasn't Chamberlain or West, but rather a 6-1 guard nicknamed "Stumpy."

i take Gail Goodrich, 71-72

25.9 ppg, 49 fg%, 85 ft%, 4.5 apg
