Hornets are also looking to deal upcoming pick #81. Looking for a 4th and 5th in exchange for 81 and a later pick.

Being that our organization is an NBA flagship franchise that exists in a large market, we've been informed by Rubio's camp that he will report to the team immediately and we will assist him in paying the maximum alotted $500,000 towards his buyout. Rubio has assured us that he is prepared to pay the balance of his buyout himself and is eager to sign with the Lakers and accept the challenge of being our starting point guard, joining Kevin Martin in the backcourt and Danny Granger on the wing. With the opportunity to win a championship in LA and with business opportunities in the endorsement heavy market of Hollywood, Rubio will more than make up for salary lost in his quest to play in the NBA as a member of the Lakers.

As far as I'm aware it'll be judged based on the opinions of whoever is voting and dependant on each of the categories/title that the voting will be for.

Your original writeup about picking him does make sense. I would imagine that if it was the Lakers that drafted him in the 2009 draft instead of the Wolves that he'd likely have been here already. So if I were judging I would take that into consideration (that he will start for your team). The only thing that would hold up that opinion is if he simply cannot realistically get out of his current contract overseas. Then, yes, he would just be an asset and not a player on the team.

Moocow, we are on the same page as that is my exact line of thinking (had he been originally drafted by a team such as the Lakers he'd have already been here from day 1. Onlyh reason he's not here is becuse he does not want to play in the American rendition of Siberia (cold ass Minnesota) and David Kahn drafted so many other PGs. His buyout is a non-issue since he can afford to foot the bill for his buyout. As I said in the writeup, he'd more than make up the difference in edorsement opportunities by playing in a market like Los Angeles and merely stepping foot into the NBA would make him an instant international pitchman. I'm rolling with viewing him as a starter and not merely relegated to some "rights to ownership" asset.

Alright, back logged on and am catching up on the BAT Discussion Thread's last few Pages now.

xKLNx Phenom wrote:Just got back from a run.. I'm picking now... I went for a jog to think over the picks. :lol: I'll PICK ASAP

I just loooooooooooooooove how you got back from a "run" just in time for the deadline I set for you to Pick. :roll:

===========================================

The only reason Phenom was given his Team was because a few GMs were calling for the 3 Vets who missed the cut to be given a chance to get a Team since nearly all the slots were filled.

I haven't gotten a chance to read the rest of the Thread yet (am doing it now), but if people feel he was circumventing the Rules enough to replace him, then I will look into it, and yep I Am Ra is the next in line for a Team.

I said it in the tiny chat on at least 3 occasions that I was going for a run. I took a grand total of 2 1/2 hours to make my pick. My plan was to draft Scola, but when he was taken I needed a few hours to look over my picks, so I went for a run to think about it.

TBCH, and I'll swear on my account with this one, I jumped on at 8:55, to make my selection, and I saw bluest stirring up the pot. If I was 'online,' why wasn't I on rgm/xbox/tinychat/aim? Also, if I was on the entire time, why wouldn't I jump on as soon as I saw your posts.... Add up the facts... I'm always one of the 1st to make my pick, and I always do ASAP.

The funny thing is... You gave me until 9:00... Around 3 hours after 5494's pick, and I still got the pick in. You guys are grasping at straws right now.

Just get over it.

(see above)

Question for the commish as well as rival GMs. I drafted Ricky Rubio. Can someone please clarify how players who are Euro draft rights to NBA teams that have not yet signed a contract in the NBA will be judged in this B.A.T.

Basically I'm asking if Rubio will be judged as my starting PG or not. I've been told by someone that he won't be viewed as a starter but rather just an asset who has no real game value as per the judging of this contest.

I understand the rules state that we may select international prospects, but that their eligibility is determined on a case-by-case scenario of judgement. Well in my case, the only reason Rubio is not in the NBA is because he does not want to play in Minnesota or any small market city. As the GM of the LA Lakers he would come report immediately (as in the actual NBA season if the Lakers OR Knicks *hint-hint* acquired him he'd be a sure-fire bet to report and pay his buyout).

Please clarify, to anyone who is in the know...thanks in advance!

Any Player who's Drafted that meets the below Rule #5, is a fully eligible to be Judges Player, and counts as 1 Full Real Roster Spot (Starter, Bench Player, or however else you want to play them).

magnumt wrote:Roster:

5. What Players are eligible to be on your Team or be Drafted?

Any player that was/is on a 2009-2010 NBA ACTIVE roster. Any Player Drafted in the 2010 NBA Draft. Any International Player who's Team still retains his Rights that was Drafted since 2006. Any Player signed by Aug 1st, 2010 of this Year's Free Agency.

Any Player that does not meet Rule #5 will be dealt on a case by case basis defined by Rule #6 below:

6. But what about Draft Rights? And can we circumvent the rules?

magnumt wrote:- We will use a case by case basis judgment on a Player that doesn't meet the criteria in #6 above.

==================================

Those earlier portions of the Rules were worded differently in past BATs because I needed to put in provisions in place to compensate for the SIMing portion of BATs. Since SIMing is no longer part of BATs, this isn't an issue anymore and I can reflect the Rules to mimic those of the real life NBA.

PM 2010 if you have any further questions about this, or feel free to ask them here (point out the question to me if I miss it as sometimes things can get lost in the Discussion Thread).

Hope that helps clarify your questions(s) 2010.

So being that Ricky Rubio DOES indeed qualify to Rule #5, that makes him eligible to be my starter and judged as so within the confines of this competition.

Thanks for the clarification commish!!!

JStarks3 can you please tell me who you switched your #72 pick from? It was someone else previous to Javale McGee and I need to know who that player was since I removed him from my "remaining players" list and need to put him back.

Yup thanks. I feel like he rounds out my roster really well. He's the perfect veteran that I need for my squad. I have my young big 3, consisting of Mayo at the PG, Turner at the SF, and Cousins at the C. Ray Allen spaces out the floor even more than it will already be, and will be a great leader to my squad. Really diggen what I got going for me here...

No knock on whoever selected Raymond Felton respectfully, because I'm sure you have a plan, but when he got selected over Devin Harris, I began to wonder. Good Harris pickup. A steal at this point in my opinion.
