Re: [Build A Team 4.0] Discussion Thread
I dunno, don't get me wrong he's a great value pick. But IMO he doesn't fit your Team. I would've continued going young, since your last 3 Picks were young. Besides the age, he won't be able to keep up in a running system with the rest of your guys over the long haul.
I understand the need for a Vet, but maybe you can flip him for more Picks and young Talent. You maybe should've targeted a young PF or SF. In any event, I like the Mayo, Turner, Cousins combo. Too bad you couldn't get Wall, it would've been OKC style talent you would've had.
Good job so far though.

I NEEDED the veteran leadership. I can't just keep going young and expect to be able to compete with some of the big boys. Half my roster has never set foot on an NBA court.

Yep. Without someone posting right after him the next GM up, or quoting the selection...there's no way of knowing on these Boards what it was.
It sucks, but in this situation there's no way for me to police/act on it like I did in BAT 1.0
Just another learning experience for future BATs.

you still can't really compete with the big boys if half your roster hasnt set foot on an NBA court. no matter what.

Mags... The SAME exact thing happened to me in BAT 2, same exact thing.... He admitted he picked Favors, so why does he get to switch? This makes no sense at all mags, and to be honest, I smell an agist suit coming.
Lets be honest here... He picked Favors, and then switched. I did the same thing in BAT 2, and was forced to keep my original selection. Tell me the difference... please, because there is none, and now I know for a fact that you are being an agist. There is legitimate proof.
I saw he had Favors originally.

Agreed. I like Ray and was/am still trying to get him (so I am biased), but to me, getting Ray doesn't turn the team into a contender, it just makes it a good young team with a solid vet. You were already going down the youth path, why not stay the course? If you really wanted a contender you could have flipped young talent later down the line when people need versatility in their rosters and cap relief like I did last BAT. You could have set yourself up for a great young team with solid depth and now it's more of a good young team with a solid vet. What I mean is, you didn't gain any in the youth department which right now is the identity of the team, and you only marginally improved in the contender department. Now it seems like you're caught in the middle. Still a good value pick, I just don't think he fits your team.

We had logged your switch. It's funny how you're at the center of nearly EVERY BAT controversy since 1.0
Whether it be pick switching, circumventing the Rules, trying to cheat other GMs etc.
knicksfan5494 said it best, let it go bro...the world isn't out to get you. Neither Bluest is, nor 2010, nor Moo, nor me, nor anyone else. You're the one putting yourself into these situations each any every time.
Also, don't make official announcements in the Draft Thread...you're not in a position to do so and don't act like it.
I gave my reasoning above: Jstarks made a pick swap it seems, but no one caught it officially (IE: had it logged in some capacity), either by posting the next GM to Draft or quoting the pick in the Discussion Thread. There's nothing we can do. Just chalk it up to a learning experience for future BATs.

But that was his prerogative. If he had known he was going to have to deal with this, I'm sure he wouldn't have ever admitted to who he originally took, and rightfully so. And if he had done that, then what could we have done about it? Just because he fell into the trap of releasing the name to you (seemingly to help you out), shouldn't mean he gets punished for that. Unless someone physically sees the original pick, and has indisputable evidence without baiting the guy into saying it, I say you have to let him keep the player.

Indeed. It's a good pick, and good Trade Value, but not a good fit for his Team at this stage. Mayo is more of a SG than fulltime ball handler, and Ray needs to spot up and shoot from good passers (see Rondo).

I'm not making a big deal. To be honest I'm not interested in McGee or Favors. We just need GMs to understand once you make your pick and you hit that "submit" button it is etched in stone. But I'm cool on it. Hey man, I'm just tryna play by the rules as should everyone else.

I didn't see an Edit on that post before (hence why I've been saying what I've been saying), and it looks like he made that Edit now (after the fact), within the last hour to update Picks.
