"I'll be a Packer for life", he says.

Very cool.

If the Packers win it all this season I'll be happiest for Driver,Rodgers will be a close second.

Driver is far and away my favorite NFL player. Even from the days where he posting single digit receptions for entire seasons I liked him.

When I saw this thread I kinda reflected over Driver's great career and how far he's come since training camp in 1999 when Driver and Charles were battling it out for that 5th WR spot.

Anyway, after thinking back to those days I wondered what ever happened to Lee and it turns out he's prison.

Good for Donald, the guy carries himself how any team would want in a good player

It's nice of the organization to show that they want to reward a guy who has meant so much to the organization over the last decade. It's good for him. It's good for the fans. And it sends a positive message to free agents that the Pack takes care of their own.

Really happy that Donald can finish his career as a Packer, I couldn't picture the guy in another jersey.

Oh how quickly things can change... from the time that I was upset the Packers let Javon go and kept Donald to Driver now going down as one of the greatest Packers EVER. What a class act, and man does that guy stay in shape.

This guy's ability with the ball in his hands is so underrated. If he gets the ball and the closest defender doesn't have a hand on him.....you can count him out for that tackle. One of the most elusive players I have seen with the ball in his hands. Ever. Top 5 Packer of my lifetime.
F*** Marc Davis, f*** Tim Donaghy and f*** David Stern as a staff, record label and as a mothaf**kin crew......and if you wanna be down with Stern then F*** YOU TOO!!! Stu Jackson f*** you too.....all you mothaf**kas F*** YOU TOO!!!!

Yeah his elusiveness in the open field is pretty sick. He just has a knack for sneaking through tight holes in the defense and getting guys to miss.

Plus, it's pretty amazing that after all these years and all the hits he's taken, Driver can still run close to the speed he had as a youngster. When Driver splits a seam and gets a step, he rarely ever gets caught from behind.

TT really takes care of the guys on the team that deserve it.

I really like that approach. Build through the draft, free agents and trades. Reward the guys that should be rewarded and keep them here... Rather than letting them go and replacing them with guys from other teams.

I think it builds chemistry and makes the team better as a whole.

I can't think of Driver without thinking of the press conference after he signed his first big deal, the one where he decribed telling his grandmother she didn't have to work anymore. Very emotional and heart warming.

Truly one of the great NFL people.

The Journal-Sentinel has hinted at this on numerous occasions over the last few months. If the Packers want their 35-year-old receiver to last through the end of the extension (2012), they'll probably have to scale back Driver's snaps. Jordy Nelson and James Jones remain deserving of more playing time.

Maybe its just me but I think the Packers will regret passing on Dez Bryant.

kind of shocking considering this from 4 days ago....
As Driver flashes his million-dollar smile preparing for what would be a seventh consecutive 1,000-yard season, he is dealing with an issue that could become even more troubling than a sore knee. Driver, the ultimate Packer, is in the final year of his contract and has received no indication from management that he'll be offered another deal.

"They have great players behind me," Driver said. "If they decided not to have me here and I left here and James and Jordy became 2 and 3, then that's fine. Greg (Jennings) would be the No. 1 guy and I would move on."

"My thing is, I want to finish my career here," he said. "I've built a great legacy here. I don't know if I'm disappointed yet. I don't think you get disappointed. You just sit back and let it play out."

I doubt it though I know you aren't alone in that thought process :P

I love this. Driver has been, and still is a great player, and above all else, has proven to be a great person. He's been an absolutely outstanding ambassador for the Packers, and for the the NFL.

Good on TT.
