Granger to Toronto?

Post#1 » by Indy2thaWindy » Sun Aug 8, 2010 3:21 am

http://raptorsrepublic.com/2010/08/07/calderon-for-granger-makes-sense/

Every time I think the Calderon to Indiana trades can't get any worse I see this. The comments are pretty funny too.

Here is one of the comments...

"Once Kleiza can be traded on Dec 15th I would be for trading him and Bargnani for Granger and Hibbert."

What is really funny is some of the Raptors fans are actually saying they'd decline a Granger and Hibbert for Calderon trade!!! hahaha Now that is the most ridiculous thing I've EVER seen.

I'm sick of hearing about how stupid Raptors fans are. Why is it even worth our time?

It's meant to be ridiculous. They weren't being serious at all.

Anyway, it's from a dumb blog. Pacers would never entertain such a trade at all. Just read the blog. It mentions that a case can be made that Calderon is a more valuable player than Granger? Seriously? In what alternate dimension? And if Calderon is the more valuable player, why would Toronto be trading him for someone less valuable with a longer contract? The logic is completely not there. Don't take it seriously at all, please.

Ok... my bad. I figured since Toronto fans are obsessed with all the Calderon to the Pacers trades here on GM and won't give it up that some of them would actually be dumb enough to post something like this for real. I guess it's just hard to separate the bad trades on here from the ones elsewhere.

You guys are dumb. Not all Raptor fans think that way. And Not all Raptor fans make lop sided trades. He's just a writer who posted a trade. YOU guys choose to read it and get angry lol.

I'm a Raps fan and before I post any trade idea I always think I'm on the other side of the fence. I'm asking: "If I'm Larry Bird or (GM X), would I do this trade?".

Don't take this seriously...

Not all of the comments were sarcastic, and even if most were, it's pretty damn tough to convey it on the interwebs unless it's blatant.

Obviously, you can't say that all Raptors fans make lopsided trades, but if a fanbase posts enough bad trades, it reflects badly on the entire group and you end up with threads like this.

Honestly I'm not mad though, I tend to look for bad trades as they're typically so awful that they're funny.

Fellow Pacers fans....do you realize how large the Raptors fan base is here on RealGM? To say that the entire Raptors fan base is ridiculous because of about 10-15 posters constantly spewing crap about Calderon to Indiana/Granger to Toronto is about the same ratio as stating that all Indy fans are ridiculous because of Indy2ThaWindy or Gremz.

Keep that in mind.

I'll have to get out my American-Canadian Translation books, burn the midnight oil researching and get back to you on that one.

All good, just having a laugh. Are you having a laugh?

And the sheer number of Raptor fans on this website ensures that we produce the highest number of
"bad trade ideas". It's purely mathematical, my friend.
