One can always make the argument that Bosh made the Raptors better beyond the plain numbers. I do not happen to agree with this. I think at best he was neutral and possibly even endothermic to the Raptors team.

en·do·ther·mic (nd-thûrmk) also en·do·ther·mal (-ml)
adj.
1. Chemistry Characterized by or causing the absorption of heat; endoergic.
2. Biology Of or relating to an organism that generates heat to maintain its body temperature, typically above the temperature of its surroundings; warm-blooded.

Even if the stats are dubious the team should be better because Bosh won't be around to absorb heat from his teammates? Interesting theory. I guess we'd need to see some stats on player body temperatures with Bosh on and off the court?

Come on man, stats are a bunch of BS. If you actually WATCH the games like I do you'd see that Bosh absorbed a lot of heat from Bargnani last season. It explains why Bargs' rebounding numbers are so poor.

I don't know about that but it may explain why free agents are reluctant to come to toronto. Its a cold weather city and while it may not be any colder than say Minny or Chicago if Bosh is absorbing heat from his teamates it may make it seem much colder than it really is.

I have a bet with my best friend:

Me < 27 < Him

27 is our safe zone for both of us. Unless a big trade goes down, he won't be winning this bet.

In the NBA, where star talent is so crucial for improving the effect a role player has on a game, please list off the teams that have a worse player at any position than the Raptors. Not necessarily potential, but the output the player will provide THIS year for their team, the value added of a team's star should also be taken into consideration for that player's improved play (e.g. Mo Williams' play in the last few seasons)...

Once you come up with this, you MAY waiver on thinking that our MINIMUM wins is 35+, that's just insane!

Minimum - 12. They have the capability of being every bit as bad as the Nets last year.
Maximum - 24

For those thinking wins in the 30s, here are the less than 30 win teams from last year: NJ, Washington, Detroit, Philly, New York, Minny, Sacto, GS, LAC. Most of those had better coaches and/or better talent and they didn't win 30. Why the hell would we?

I put the over/under on this team at 28.5

I don't know what 'number of minimum wins' means..

If you're trying to say 'the minimum number of wins', I would say somewhere around 18...

I agree that we might reach 40...we no longer have the black hole on offense that is chris bosh...hopefully the infusion of youth will get us somewhere (sorta like thisyear's jays!)

Vegas o/u is 27.5 wins. I'd say it would be 29/30 wins max for this team and 25 minimum

BTW I have been telling my friends, that we will have a first round match up with the Miami Heat in the 2010/2011 playoffs. Won't say a number, but I am going with that.

Lol - I like the minimum/maximum's with only five games difference. I think this team could win anywhere from 20 to 40 games...most likely closer to 20 than 40...but who really knows.

This is going to be a very different team with a different go-to guy, different system, different coaches, different starters and different players. The club has expirings and a huge TPE..so who knows what might be added as the season goes on either.

This season to me is the most unpredictable in a long time....really hard to say how this team will do.

We're gonna need sub-25 wins to get in the top 3 lottery.
