Hedo for.....?
I'm very eager in trading Hedo for a big. Hedo shouldn't be considered a PF, and we have an overload of SF's. plus with Hedo, he takes the ball out of Nash and Dragic's hands...
so here are a few players i'm willing to give him up for....
1) Charlie Villanueva
--fits our system very well. demands the ball less than Hedo. solid 3-point shooter and could probably rebound better than Hedo. has a better contract. would act as our second Channing Frye.
2) Emeka Okafor
--i know suns fans r very skeptical of him, but I'm certain that he has better offense AND defense than Robin. if we were to add him next to Robin, then thats a defensive lockdown downlow. good shotblocker, nice defender, and his offense will develop under Nash for certain.
3) Marcus Camby
--adds a lot of height and length to our frontline. very good rebounder, very good defender and shotblocker. we all saw how much he helped portland and what a difference he made for them.
4) Nene'
--once again, HEIGHT and a big body. 13 points 7 rebounds 1 block, in 25 min a game is pretty decent. pretty explosive, and could go well with Nash's pick-n-roll to finish at the basket.
5) Marcin Gortat
--good rebounder, adds a lot of length, big spark off the bench.
Suns FO should really consider these guys.

Re: Hedo for.....?
i dont know if its a coincidence our usernames are the same but anyways i think you're wrong a bout a couple of things.
1)We do not need another player with the same skill set as frye because we do NOT need another shooting big and having a 2players of the same skillset is pretty dumb most of the time.. Hedo gives us an extra playmaker.
2)Okafor is overpaid and he aint a sure thing.. Maybe he will thrive maybe not so i dun think hes worth the risk.
3)Since we might be relying on the zone it is good to have a good help defender.
Camby probably could work for us but would portland give him up?
4) A good option but health issues might be a problem. If we could get him for Hedo i would do it.
5) i would trade hedo for gortat....
but only after we see how the team play games... dont wanna fix wat aint broken.

No way!! Hedo will beast for us. He is our new closer. A 6'10 guy who can get his shot against anyone. I wouldn't mind making him the man in our offense.
Edit: while playing the 3.

I'm confident that Hedo will be back in shape in our system, if he isn't then I'd be interested in Marcus Camby.

Re: Hedo for.....?
If he isnt I would say Orlando for Gortat. Hedo and Lewis worked at the Sf. and Pf. before, so hope they get nestangic and try to get the Polish hammer and something else. But Im sure he is going to work here, he is a pro athlete with an ego. At this point he would want nothing more than to prove all the haters wrong. So good for us, we get a MOTIVATED HEDO!!

Trade him? They just got him and he fits the system perfectly. He's definately going to put up better numbers than last season and his numbers last season weren't exactly horrible.

Re: Hedo for.....?
I think Hedo will fit in well in our system. I know he's going to get abused on defense but it's not going to be much worse than Amare. Rebounding will also drop but other guys can pick up the slack like they did in the playoffs with Amare grabbing like 6 boards per game. On offense, we obviously lose our dominance in the paint but we get a guy who can cause several match up problems which was evident in the Cavs / Magic series in '09. Hedo has great court vision and runs the PnR pretty well. Can see over the defense and make timely passes to cutters and shooters. It gives us another guy besides Nash to create offense which we haven't had in awhile. He can use high screens to penetrate cause I don't think he can effectively beat guys off the dribble with his lack of quickness. I've seen him read defenses really well (recognize mismatches, use the glass to lay it in with shot blockers around etc) so that's another bonus. He can also space the floor with his ability to shoot the trey. Plus, he's probably going to be motivated since everybody questioned his performance last season in T.O. We should at least wait till how he performs before looking to trade him. He has a nasty contract, though.

Re: Hedo for.....?
Why would the front office trade a player they just got and who hasn't even played a game for us yet?
So why are we even DISCUSSING it? No trades will be happening with Hedo involved before December, I guarantee it.

1. We can't trade him until December, I believe.
2. We were the only ones stupid enough to trade for him and his horrific contract. Oh, and we traded LB for a player with far worse offensive efficiency.
3. We're the only people stupid enough to try playing him at the 4. He's been in the league what? 8? 9? years, and no one else has tried making him a starting power forward. He has no partner for the P&R at the 4. His numbers are going to be the same as in Toronto, and we're going to be a .500 team. WHo's going to take him off our hands then?

1. I thought he could be traded straight away and only recently signed players have to wait like 3 months.
2. Yeah seems stupid but that's what I said about the JRich's contract when we first got him.
3. Unfortunately we're absoulutely stacked at the 3 already, even if we don't play EC at all. Trust me, I don't think we are playing Hedo at the 4 by choice.
4. I see Turk playing minutes with the 2nd unit which means he'll likely get minutes with a potential PnR guy in Warrick. In the starting lineup he'll have Lopez to PnR with too.

Re: Hedo for.....?
I still find it curious that the only player we haven't heard anything about this summer is J-Rich. It's certainly possible I missed something, but I don't think I've heard much of anything at all mentioned about him. Doesn't necessarily mean anything, but it is possible that there could still be a desire to move him based on info provided to Chill about starting.
If we are moving Hedo(which I don't think we'll do) I might try to get him to POR for Fernandez, Pendergraph, and Pryzbilla, If they'd go for it. I think it is more realistic than going for Camby, returns us nice young players, while clearing the cap space we ate up when we signed him, if we don't want Pryz to come back, leaving more room to go after Melo. POR gets their true starting quality small forward without giving up on Batum. They also get a quality closer, which they have not had. It's just a quick thought. I would love to get a pick back out of that as well, but just for the sake of keeping it more plausible, I left it out.
Nash/ Dragic
Richardson/ Fernandez
Hill/ Chill/ Duds
Warrick/ Lawal/ Amundson (re-sign)
Lopez/ Frye/ Pryz
or live on the wild side and go the Stanford route

Re: Hedo for.....?
I think Hedo is better than all the guys(yes, even nene) that you suggested, and will have a bigger impact in our system than any of those guys ever could.
But time will tell come the new season, and we'll then be able to see his uses to us a few games in.

Wait, I get verbally chastised for not liking Goran shooting three for five in a thread I didn't start, and other posters are making threads that encompass trading guys before they even suit up for our team.
Mr. Lee, you better flame this guy.
