What's the "plan" ?!?
To save Chewie from post-padding, how about we just compile all of these here, since it's becoming more and more clear that this team has very little sense of direction anywhere not name special teams.

Was hoping we could update the various positional posts as news of the free agent signings (or misses) become available.
Was only really going to post OL and WR threads anyway, to tell you the truth. If I had combined my thoughts on the two in one giant post, I can see how it would be off-putting and not read. Not really trying to pad....

My guess is the plan is that Jerry & Lovie believe that the only reason they lost last year was because of injuries on defense and a breakdown in the O-Line. Thus, no big free agent spending on skill positions. They will sign a left tackle and move Tait back to right and sign a guard. In the draft they go safety in the first round. Wide receiver in the second. O-Line in the 3rd.
They kept Briggs and assume Dusty comes back healthy and Harris is fully recovered, thus the D-line regains its dominance. Both corners come back healthy and ready to go. Putting a stud rookie safety next to Manning and bringing back M. Brown for leadership (but not as a starter). Thus the Defense is tops in the league again and the offense can work on not losing games.
Great Plan huh?

My guess the regime is going to look into the draft and if so here's what they need:
We need OTs, probably a G, WR, QB, S/FS, and a RB.
Here's some of my picks I like in the upcoming draft:
QB - Joe Flacco, Chad Henne, and my dark horse Ricky Santos (if he's healthy)
WR - Mario Manningham, Limas Sweed, DeSean Jackson (not to sure of DSJ because he's like Hester, but with some WR abilities), and Marcus Monk (tall dude, should be able to fight for the ball!)
OT/G - Jake Long, Jeff Otah (J.O. is huge, I've seen him around in Delaware), Sam Baker, Adam Kraus
RB - Rashard Mendenhall (of course!), Mike Hart, Ray Rice
S/FS - not sure yet, but see below.
Of course a lot will be gone, would say the BEARS might be to land 20% of the guys I listed (2 or 3 guys).
Solution to S/FS: I think we're looking at seeing where Mike Brown, I bet he does come back, with a great insurance plan. If he doesn't come back, I expect the BEARS to entice the Eagles for Lito Sheppard. I've heard his name is being mentioned around to being unhappy with his contract, plus the Eagles are looking into their high draft pick as possible replacement (unless they're planning to move Sheldon Brown to S/FS). It can't hurt for management to go after Lito and then move Peanut to S/FS (this was mentioned by Tom Waddle on Monday).
