2010 Preseason Coaches Poll

Post#1 » by AgEnT50 » Sat Aug 7, 2010 6:24 am

ROLL TIDE ROLL!!! :D

Thoughts?

I think FLA is too high, but I'm surprised to see Oregon starting off @ #11. I thought they would be atleast top-7 even with the loss of Masoli

I normally root for Boise State to challenge the BCS teams, but I think the coaches are giving them a bit more credit than they're worth.

Someone is going to have to explain to me why Oklahoma is a Top 10 team already.

Where's USC?

Boise State went undefeated and returns 22 starters. If anything, they should be higher.

We'll find out about Boise pretty quick.

I think Va Tech is gonna beat Boise in week 1.
Cross-country trip. Playing in FedEx Field...virtually a home game for Va Tech. All adding up to a loss to me
Gonna be tough, tough game for the Broncos

I think that Boise/VT is a BCS elimination game...and I like the Hokies A LOT.

Surprised North Carolina isn't getting more love, their defense has as many as 9 players that will be drafted next draft, 6 of them in the top two rounds.

This is Ohio State's best team since the one that lost to Texas in the BCS game. I think both them and the Iowa/Wisconsin winner are BCS bowl-bound.

LOL at Notre Dame getting votes. They lost almost their entire starting offense from a 6-6 team and somehow they're going to be better?!? Their D is still lousy and now they won't have the horses to outscore teams as much. I respect the hell out of Brian Kelly but he's not a miracle worker.

iowa #10 wooo

losing top 2 linebackers and most of the o-line hurts but the defensive line should be really good, and pretty much the rest of the offense is back

I've heard that one of the tackle spots will be fine, plus they churn out quality OL guys like Will Ferrell puts out awful movies. I love the young QB but methinks they are a year away. Adrian Claybrone will be no lower than 3rd in my first mock draft, FYI.

I agree, as I think Va Tech will be ready in a game that's actually important.

ya, i'm not really worried about the o-line with iowa's history at having quality there every year

young qb? are you talking about stanzi? because i believe he is a 5th year senior

after winning the rosebowl, i think ohio state is primed and ready. the problem was their quarterback play and his experience. at this point, i think hes ready. mad skills and ability, but just totally green and inexperienced. but now? he will run the table with his skills.

Up to now, Pryor has hardly lived up to expectations.....but you are right about his oodles of , and maybe this is going to be a breakout year.

If so, OSU will be singing.......

Stanzi is solid, but the Vandenberg dude has a chance to be special. Other than the Northwestern game he was very impressive, and he was only a freshman.

Come on Badgers. It's been far too long since the last Rose Bowl.

Oklahoma has a pretty easy schedule. That and so many things went wrong for them last year for that to repeat.

Week 1- vs Utah State- win in a rout
Week 2 vs Florida State - win ( home game and Id rather play FSU early in the year instead of late)
Week 3 vs Air Force- win fairly easily
Week 4 @ Cincinatti- win (BearCats not as good as last year)

If they can beat Texas in Week 5 they'll start the season 5-0 and they won't have any tough games until they play TT and Texas A&M in Weeks 9/10...And they should beat both but I can see one of those teams sneaking one out. They end the season @ Baylor and @ OK State, tough games because they're on the road but OU could conceivably be 10-0 at than point and in stride and rolling so I doubt they lose those games to inferior opponents.

In all honestly I can see them running the table or lose 1 game...2 at the most.

Injuries have done the Sooners in the last couple of seasons.

They are kind of flying under the radar this year while most everyone is talking up Alabama and Ohio St as being the front runners.

I agree with you in that Oklahoma should be legitimate contenders should they stay healthy.
