A. Follow rules (good luck with these guys).
B. Follow Rubio
C. Know his tendencies/potential/strengths/weaknesses well

That's a lot to ask for when most of these guys really don't know much about the guy aside from what they've read/seen. The last thing I saw from Rubio was him getting the **** crossed out of him at half court then falling down at mid court like someone shot a bowling ball at his nuts.

Just saying.

Jordan got crossed up and fell too once (just saying). Also, I clearly remember Rubio breaking Jason Kidd's ankles and having him on roller skates in the Olympics as a TEENAGER. I'm sure his game has matured since then.

As for the rules, if players are judging teams by THEIR OWN RULES then what's the point of making rules in the first place?

Um, I'm pretty sure I said LAST THING I REMEMBER, not "once upon a time, Rubio got crossed". Big difference, especially when your talking about a guy that doesn't even play in the US. When youtube video's are the main thing you have to go by, seeing a guy get the **** crossed out of him has more of an impact.

and come on with this fairness crap. It's only unfair when things don't go your way. Obviously, that's not just on you. It's on everyone but be realistic about what's gonna happen. Rubio was loved and completely **** on by guys during the draft. What exactly is fair/unfair judging on Rubio? It's an extremely hard line to draw.

Yeah, and my point is EVERYONE gets their schit cracked and their ankles broke. You're talking about guys guarding the very best basketball players in the world. No matter how good of a defender you are, you can get dragged and scraped on any given night. Means absolutely nothing.

As per Rubio I am being realistic. The same dudes criticizing how he is eligible to be judged are the same dudes who would pick him in a heartbeat. SwissCheese for one was BEGGING me to trade him Rubio and has stated willingly on many occasions in these discussion threads that had he been fully aware of the rule he'd have drafted Rubio IN THE FIRST ROUND! Then you have others trying to downplay Rubio for BAT yet if the Knicks acquired him they'd be on their knees like Laurence Fishburne's daugther (and not just to thank God, if ya know what I mean). If we can't judge Rubio then how can we judge a guy like Derrick Favors (who is even less proven) and I highly doubt most of you have seen him play anymore than Rubio.

I gotta say, I like Rubio for this BAT game. I understand the doubt and yeah he hasn't proven anything in the NBA yet. But the kid has always been recognized for his game and you have to look at the Euro PG model and see it's recent success. I think at the worst you end up with him at the level of Beno Udrih, and I could see him being better. I will say I think he went a bit high in the draft but I think again he's a great player to nab for this game.

Knox did the same thing the last go-around of picks. This is crazy...he shouldn't get an additional 6hrs.

Exactly! And the way I see it is that no rookie has proven anything in the NBA yet (including John Wall). Yet you just know Wall is a player the way you know Rubio will be a player. Brandon Jennings had stinky, stinky stats in Euroleauge and his first half tour in the NBA he dominated. Rubio is no scorer but he is seen as a franchise point guard and a glue guy who makes everyone around him better. He's been a pro since before he lost his virginity so I have no qualms about his value to the NBA or build a team.

I think at the worst you end up with him at the level of Beno Udrih, and I could see him being better. I will say I think he went a bit high in the draft but I think again he's a great player to nab for this game.

I think Udrih is more like his basement (meaning below his floor and he'd actually have to get worse as a PG to be on Udrih's level). I see his floor as Mark Jackson (still a great career but never much of a shooter yet always capable of running a team that's a contender). His ceiling (if he ever gets a consistent jumper) is the flair of Pistol Pete with the floor generalmanship of Steve Nash type of hybrid.

You would think as long as posters have been waiting to make picks they'd be excited when it comes round to their turn. In particular when you have back-to-back picks. Should have had them lined up ret to go. Simply Insane To The Membrane how every round produces a WTF moment.

Yeah man, we really need a more thorough screening process for the next BAT. I suggest creating a Board of Governers who are reliable, active, savvy and anointing lets say 10 guys franchises for BAT's on a rolling basis. Then this BoG contingent votes on who gets let in thereafter during the signing process of hopefuls. What do you guys think?

Every time there is a hiccup we forget we shouldn't be posting in the Draft Thread for discussion. So shame on us too but it wouldn't take place if we had more responsible GMs. Make sure to keep our discussions here me foremost of us all.
