Ugh, take out Blatche and put in Seraphin/Booker. Blatche might *already* be better than West.

wiz medical staff maintain that using fish hooks for surgery is more effective than using pins.

quote "fish hooks are just plain better. they may take a little longer and the affected bone may end up a little deformed, but fish hooks are cheap, stylish and readily available."

Andray's growing into a team leader. He seized the moment last season and I believe he'll bounce back nicely from this setback with his foot.

Andray will likely never be a leader of men, but if he actually puts in the effort in the gym like Jamison did here (and like you'd normally expect from a professional), that'll be a big step up for him.

I'm still a bit cautious about Blatche's attitude, but after the way he finished the season it's conceivable that its finally sunken in for Dre.

Having success can be infectious, but he's said all the right things in the past. I just hope this injury doesn't set him back too far.

Seems Dray's attitude got better when he started at PF and got 30 plus minutes a game instead of playing center or behind AJ.

Haywood seemed like he had an attitude problem also back when EJ was D-ing him around in the Etan War days.

I think the MIP award will always go to a player who makes a transformation from one year to the next. Clearly players who all of a sudden blow up and have mid-year improvements all across the board don't get much consideration for MIP awards, otherwise Blatche would have been a leading candidate for the MIP award last season. If Blatche comes out and averages 20 and 9 next year the voters will say, 'well he averaged 14 and 7 last year so it's not that big of an improvement'.

If any Wizard wins the MIP award next year my money goes on Javale. He averaged 6-4 last year. If he bumps that up to 15-9 or so he'll get a ton of votes because he already has the attention of the media after the SL and Team USA bit.

Blatche quote from WashingtonWizards.com interview:
I’m very excited. The first thing for me is getting my foot ready. Right now that is my focus so I don’t miss any practices or preseason games.

That's great news. A lot of us have speculated he wouldn't be healthy for the start of the regular season, but Blatche is planning on playing every game in the preseason! Maybe that's just his goal, and I'm sure he'll take it easy in the preseason, but hopefully he's just ahead of schedule (and not being rushed back by the Wiz medical staff).

I just wish he said more about the foot. That was a very generic answer. I would have liked to hear him say... I'm at 85 % or 90% or I'm ahead of schedule and everything it looking like I will definitely be ready for camp. Anything more definative.

The reporter didn't follow up well in that interview or he had to agree to not press him on it because he won't be ready and they want to sell tickets. Not sure but nothing I read gave me warm fuzzies. Nothing bad. Nothing really good either.
