I don't know Moo, I'm a huge Afflalo fan. He's a GREAT shooter and an equally GREAT perimeter defender. I think he's great for his squad.

They don't really need another perimeter shooter is the problem. Frye and Turkeyglue are more than fine for that. What they lack are guys that can take it to the whole or someone that has an inbetween game to prevent teams from going zone. Vince Carter is more suited for that even though he's slowed down in recent years. I think people tend to fall into a trap believing that if you have Howard on the team you need to surround him with a lot of guys who can hit perimeter shots. Not so. What you need (and it's something the Magic has needed since forever) is a better facilitator on offense (than Jameer Nelson, who really is more of a really good scoring PG). That's why they were a much better team with Turkoglu there, NOT because he can shoot (Vince Carter and JJ Reddick replaced that), but because he made the offense run better and was able to get the ball to Howard when he didn't have 2 or 3 guys surrounding him, ready to shove, hit and otherwise bother him to throw him off his game.

Afflalo is a fine young player, not disagreeing, but not a fit for this team. He should be able to get a good value in a trade for Afflalo is also the other benefit (probably more so than Vince Carter would get in a trade).

You have to start Carter and Turkoglu IMHO. And if so, Afflalo really isn't an ideal 6th man. Not enough offense and ability to create for himself for that role.

I see what you mean. You are saying he basically needs a swing a la Wade. Obviously not of that caliber, but that type of player.

Utah Jazz and the Minnesota Timberwolves have come to an agreement.

Image

trade Paul Millsap and the 166th overall pick (6th round)

to

Image

for Evan Turner and the 295th overall pick (10th round).

Were both on our phones right now so we can't make it fancy.

We accept because we get a higher pick and a better fit. Good quick dealing. Pleasure to deal with you lj.

Not feeling the deal for the Wolves. BAT is running really thin on swingmen, especially one as good as Turner.

Also running low on good big men such as Millsap.

This is true, but I think you are underrating Cousins a tad bit.

I can make the pick. I just have two specific guys that I REALLY want and it's just so excruciating to wait on whether or not one of them is going to get picked!

Yeah we're about at the point in the BAT where it's pretty much impossible to rank any player. Guys that can get picked in the 6th by some can be seen as 8th or 9th round guys by others and vice versa. This is actually the fun part. The first 4 or 5 rounds were more cut and dry.

Would you be open to dealing the first pick in the 6th round?

No I don't think so.

This is my roster right now.

Jrue Holiday
Tyreke Evans
DeMarr DeRozan
Paul Millsap
DeMarcus Cousins

I just wanted someone next to Cousins.

At this point I would only consider my 6th and two 12th round picks for a 7th, 8th, and 9th round pick or a better offer than that. Otherwise no thanks.

I had hoped to nab Dragic with my later 6th (172) when I mapped it out. But with Bluest Khan'ing all the PG's and the pool running dry...I had to jump on him in the 5th.

I know my team isn't contending now, but I feel I've built a solid core for my franchises future. These guys compliment each other very well, are all defensively sound, and are team-oriented players with solid BBIQ.

I still have a few moves to make, but these guys will most definitely compete for a playoff spot this season...and will continue to grow and make moves with their cap space moving forward.
