Your answer is in this thread. We talk about trading one of either Smoove or Horford and an ORL fan comes on to offer GORTAT (whom Zaza has trashed in the playoffs and - now - in Europe).

When you need to trade, no one offers you value.

Thrashed?

Game 1:
ZP: 12 pts (50%)/ 7 rbs/ 1 ast
Gortat: 9pts (66%)/ 6 rbs/ 2 ast

Game 2:
ZP: 0 pts (no FGs attempted)/0/0/0 (on 7 minutes of play)
Gortat: 2 pts (100%)/ 2 rbs/ (on 8 minutes of play)

Game 3:
ZP: 2 pts (33%)/ 3 rbs/ 0 ast (22 mins)
Gortat: 2 pts (50%)/ 6 rbs/ 1 ast (9 mins)

Game 4:
ZP: 6 pts (66%)/ 6 rbs/ 1 ast (17 mins)
Gortat: 3 Pts (100%)/ 1 rbs (7 mins)

He's gotten the better of him a few times, but now you're just being ridiculous. And Gortat's defense is superior, but I didn't mean Gortat/Smith straight up anyway. Just one centered around him. You could definitely argue that Gortat had the better series, considering he got similar production on less than half the playing time.

the point still stands. the hawks are giving up josh smith who probably has the best all around game on the hawks, for a guy who can get outplayed by zaza pachulia any given night.

horford has shown little promise on offense. is worse at defense than josh, and only rebounded margininally better last season.

and i dont see horford improving offensively at the 4. he loses his only advantage(speed over bigger players) and he has little postgame to make up for it.

josh is a far better player and has a much better future.

Al Horford also plays far better post defense and can hit the midrange jumper.

The only thing that leads to think Smith can hit mid and long range are that strangely, he often hits it when it counts, like I needed some pressure to hit the shot. But even if it's important to hit on last second or in moeny time, it's also important to not loose points in the game before on lots of stupid shots.

I do not know who we should thasnfer, but we have to do that with one of them. Either that or get the same results another year. Then, 10 years down the road we will be collecting 10 4th seeds in the East and nothing else.

I understand that JSmoove fills the seats, is atractive to tv and other franchises, is the local hero and has more options of developing, but Horford is that hard worker that will get a 20-10 for many years when surrounded by players that are not undersized.

I would understand any of both transactions, but please management do something in order to improve the roster. We know how far we will get with this people. Is it better to be 4tg for 10 years than try to figure out a more competitive roster and , may be, make a mistake?

People in the league is using their brains in order to improve teams. Look at the trade that was done today...

I would probably do a Baron/Kaman for Smoove/Bibby/Zaza swap. Would ATL be interested?

Baron/Teague
JJ/Crawford/Crawford
Marvin/Evans
Horford/Powell
Kaman/Collins

That's a much more balanced and talented team.

Do you guys expect Zaza to see an uptick in his playing time this season? More in the 20 mpg range than 15 mpg?

I do because of a couple factors. #1 the new offense will require a deeper bench because of its greater activity. #2 we didn't sign anyway that would be a real threat to take those additional minutes
