So you are counting on Bargnani to have a break-out year based on Bosh not being around anymore? That doesn't day a lot for his talent. You obviously haven't seen Hibbert play more than once or twice. He made big strides with his foul trouble problems and showed the potential to be a top 10 Center in the league. I would already take him over guys like Kendrick Perkins... who shine because defenders have to pay attention to everyone else on his team.

BUT! you guys have the worst front court in the league now :D

I'd gladly take Hibbert, McRobterts and Hansbrough over Kleiza, Evans, and Bargnani. Maybe most wouldn't... but I think you should examins every team b4 proclaiming we are the worst

LOL ur kidding right? Hibbert is nothing but a big body for now, unless he fine tunes his game, Hansbrough had injurys, and the rest are scrubs.

Bargnani is gunna have a breakout year with CB gone, Leading scorer on the raps (18-21 ppg)
Kleiza is our SF and Evans was barly in the rotaion so wtf you talkin about? We just signed Amir Johnson to a long contrack, great young player, blocks shots, rebounds huge upside, and Ed Davis was a shotblockin machine in summer league + Rebounding also huge upside. You don't even know the roster and ur talking? im srry
Bargs/Amir/Davis
over
Hibbert/Hansbrough/McRoberts

anyway GJ with the trade

It's all good,

Magnum Rolle gonna take control. 8-)

Well said!

Can't wait to see Collison playing for us this season, he's going to be a humongous upgrade for the Pacers.

I think the T.J. Ford buyout is going to get done. They're going to quibble about the price for awhile, but that's a bad marriage that is begging to be dissolved. In the end Ford will probably get nearly all of what he is owed, 90 pct. or more, enough so that he can sign with someone else for the minimum to make up (and then some) for that 10 pct. he sacrifices and go to a team that actually wants him. The Pacers would still save a little money while freeing up a spot for Rolle, whom I think they want to hang on to.

here's what I got in my email as a season ticket holder:

As a friend of the franchise, we wanted to notify you the Pacers have acquired point guard Darren Collison and forward James Posey from the New Orleans Hornets as part of a four-team, five-player trade. As part of the deal, the Pacers will send veteran forward Troy Murphy to the New Jersey Nets.

There will be a live press conference at 5:00 p.m. today with Pacers President of Basketball Operations Larry Bird and General Manager David Morway.

I have no intention of analyzing this to death right now. I'm just gonna sit back, relax, and enjoy this for a minute because we deserved this. (and now i have to figure out how to afford league pass this year. But thats a problem I like having)

agree with this - although that does leave us a little weak w/ PG depth - Price injured and Lance Stephenson not having proved he can play point in the league. I do hope this happens though so we can get rid of Ford and sign Rolle.

Ideally we also trade a wing - preferably DJones or Dunleavey, but Id also part with Posey (won't happen tho) or Rush, to free up space and maybe get a big or backup pg of value. Regardless, I am obviously ecstatic about today's developments

yea it does seem a little crowded at the wing right now... with rush, danny, mike, george, dahntay, and posey... depending on what kind of rotation we use at least 1 of those guys will be 3rd string and probably 2. I don't want to see the highest draft pick the Pacers have had in years on the bench all year... and most of the reast of those guys would not be fine with not playing.

Hopefully 1 of Rush, Dunleavy, or Dahntay can be moved along with either Jeff, S. Jones, or Hansbrough for a more productive big man.

I'm hoping with the willingness to trade Murphy that it means Hans is ready (or going to be ready) to go for camp and that he and McRoberts will share, and maybe Magnum if we find a roster spot for him.

a few possible scenarios

1 Collison
2 Rush,George or Dunleavy
3 Granger
4 McRoberts or Hansbrough
5 Hibbert

or the small combo of

Collison
Rush or George
George or Dunleavy
Granger
Hibbter

I'd have to think that the coaches would feel better putting out a young PG with a veteran who can help relieve some of the ball-handling pressure off of him. This leads me to think that a healthy Dunleavy will get the start with Granger, and Rush and George coming off the bench behind them.

Although, the same argument goes for possibly needing Dunleavy to play with Stephenson when Lance is getting PG minutes (or Price for that matter).

I just don't see a way we can move a healthy Dunleavy with our still weak PG rotation. To me, Dahntay and Posey are the two guys to move.

wow great trde for you guys. what a great offense in general. I thought paul goerge was a top 5 talent in this years draft. Stevenson and Magnum looked like steals so far in the summer league. and this trade not only fits team needs, any trade where you get the best player is a win!!! maybe im crazy but I coul see you guys challenging for a 7 or 8 seed this year.
