Eh, maybe we'll sign Patty Mills, then they'll be coming out the wood work.
It'll be like we signed Joe Hachem and Jeff Lisandro.

LOL was actually going to start a thread about us signing patty. But it would be way too homery of me to want patty and Jawai. 6-10 pf

This latest huge 4 team trade rumor...basically kills BOTH ideas for prying away franchise players we had reason to believe could become available. Hornets moving their prospect back up PG and the lesser of their bad contracts for a guy like Ariza...a guy that helps them more now with a longer contract...is a statement...while not a good one...is a statement to Paul...trying to get better now.

Would also seem to lessen the idea of Paul being dealt any time soon.

And of course...Indy moving Troy to resolve their PG issue...makes Devin moot for them...and more than likely...removes Granger as a potential trade piece.

I think it also means that when Paul's contract is up he's GONE. Ariza is going to make things worse for the Hornets not better :-|

Doing nothing wouldnt help them more, it helps them less. The only way to save him is to show him that they will trade and spend and get more win now guys. But if you are predicting that THIS trade will fail to improve the team....so that pushes him out...I can see that. I can see that waiting for a better deal might have made more sense and that they will regret the deal when they are without both PG's later.

But direction wise...this most likely says...not trading Paul this season...which sucks for us.

If Paul was going anywhere, he would of pushed for Portland. The Blazers always had the upper-hand and could offer close or equal value to what we could offer.

In fact, as Mikhail said, this helps our chances of getting Paul in 2012.

Outside of Roy, what would the Blazers have offered that is equal to what we could've offered?

I'm basically predicting that this trade isn't going to make the Hornets much better on the court and that because salary cap wise it's put the Hornets in a worse situation they are now going to be unable to make further moves which will in turn add to CP3's frustration (after the initial "joy" period) over the span of the next two years.

Batum, Bayless, Babbitt, Oden.

Two years under contract without a no trade clause...doesnt matter what he wants. No one has an upper hand to land a guy under contract in this league like you just described. Not until they have a threat to leave in a couple of months.

He wants out of NO. See them saying OK? They have the leverage over him. The key is giving them what they would want if they think its time to deal. Giving them incentive NOT to deal...doesnt help us at all.

They would use Pryzbilla and Miller to absorb Okafor.
