Re: Collison
Collison has this year guaranteed, and then has 2 consecutive team options on his contract.
He's essentially safely under contract for 3 years at VERY low numbers.

Re: Collison
Good job on getting Collison, no matter what you do wih Posey, I think you still got a steal fromt hsi deal.
Troy is only good for his expiring, nothing really.
You got a true promising PG.

Re: Collison
Congrats guys, you're going to love him. He gets a little out of control, but he can explode at any moment.
Can't wait to see how far he comes along this season from last, where he was great.
He's not an elite all time play maker, but he's a very good passer, and he's super quick, He's not as long, so he won't be AS good defensively, but he's going to remind people of Rondo with shooting ability in a few years. Good defense, sneaky rebounder, solid passer and playmaker, explosive to the rack, good finisher, etc.
Again, congrats, you got yourself a player, don't be fooled into thinking he's a guy that just put up numbers on a bad team.

Re: Collison
Thanks NO-KG-AI. We're not worried about the bad team affecting numbers stuff, maybe the generous scorer there in New Orleans who was quick to give the assists out....haha.
Really though, we're ecstatic with this deal. Even having to eat the last 2 years on Posey's deal is a good thing. I was at the point where I would've eaten Okafor's deal in a Murphy swap to get Collison, just to not have this gaping hole at PF, but we lucked out and get to save some money.
Hell, even if for some reason it doesn't work out for Collison, we really don't lose anything. We gave up an expiring contract that didn't fit 100% into our long-term plans. Yeah, it'd be nice to re-sign him for much cheaper after this deal was up, but maybe we still can.
Interesting to see what we do with Posey. Maybe he sticks it out here for two years. Maybe he retires. Maybe we buy him out next off-season. Maybe we trade him. Who knows. At least he's professional enough that I have the confidence that he won't demand a trade.

Re: Collison
Posey is kinda meh at this point. He'll still hustle, rebound, give you some dirty plays at timely points, and his shooting goes from terrible to epic in hte last few minutes
He'd be great with a contending team with a good defensive anchor, because he's not a great perimeter defender anymore.
