Predict the 2010-2011 Standings

Post#1 » by Austin » Thu Aug 12, 2010 6:01 pm

Not sure if this is an ok thread to post here, but if it's not, just lock it up.

I wanted to see everyone's insight based on the NBA as teams stand this year, what will the standings be at the end of the season for the West/East. For me:

West:
Lakers
Blazers
Thunder
Jazz
Suns
Mavericks
Spurs

East:
Heat
Magic
Celtics
Bulls
Hawks
Knicks
Bucks
Nets (just cause!)

I think Houston, Utah and Phoenix will be battling for 7-8, but I'm just giving them the edge. Houston will be dangerous if they can get Yao back healthy. Utah lost a few players but got back Big Al and I think they'll be almost as good as they were last season.

I can't see Miami going all the way this season. I know their trio is good (lol) but the rest of the team are just pieces. I think Boston is a great lineup, I really like their front court. I'd put money on either Lakers or Boston to win it all this season. I'm hoping Boston.

Better players mostly. Also more physical, better defensively and on the boards.

I wouldn't say they have better players. They may have more physical players, but that doesn't make a difference. I'll take the Suns over Denver and Jazz in a series. I still believe we can beat any team in the West except LA.

Lakers
Suns
Mavs
Thunder
Nuggets
Jazz
Blazers
Hornets

this was tough, but i really think we're better than the rest of the teams in the west minus the lakers. time will tell though. I honestly don't think the jazz/rockets/blazers are gonna be anything to write home about. I know it's risky, but nobody included the hornets in the playoffs hunt, and ima go out on a limb here, and say they get in the 8th spot.

Heat
Magic
Celtics
Bulls
Hawks
Bucks
Bobcats
Knicks

well, this is assuming the heat live up to the expectations, and that the celtics are injury free, for the most part. tough to out bulls at #4, and I originally had them at 3, but i feel that the celtics are a better team. i think the knicks will slide into the 8th spot, and the bucks with a 6th spot have a shot against an aging celtics team(slim, very slim though).

i think everyone is sleeping on the bucks, they're gonna surprise more people than they did last season... they're gonna be better

I had them 5th in the East. They could be top 4 if Bogut comes all the way back from in injury.
