There's a lot more to the triangle than just that...and each of those players aren't fits to begin with.

why is there beef over that. Its just a what he thinks. Respond to it why you made your decision and dont be a total dick over it.

I dont even know why you picked Phil when theres a lot better options than a coach who has health problems and has always had a Kobe or MJ to help him win. Pops is the only acception to picking a coach this early IMO.

swiss is saying that the triangle wouldn't work with my players and that phil is a bad pick. if youre gonna say that, back it up with some explanation. wheres the discussion in that? thats all im saying.

The Triangle Offense doesn't need a PG like Kidd, and you also need post players who can really pass the ball. Also you need passing wings, but I won't comment on that b/c I don't know about the passing ability of Morrow or Ariza.

A better coach for your guys woulda been, gulp, [some other coach which can't be named cuz that would be like naming players], your choice.

My explanation is that those players don't fit the triangle.

Kidd is an uptempo/PnR pg. Morrow, while he can shoot, doesn't have the handles to create for himself nor the ability to facilitate for others. He's just a spot up shooter. And Amar'e is not a post presence. He's a face to the basket player in Iso sets, and looks to get out and catch the ball on the run. He's not a traditional post presence.

I'm just stating the obvious. Phil is one of the best coaches, don't get me wrong...but the objective of drafting coaches is to surround them with players that fit their system. Not just plop any ol' coach into the mix.

the triangle needs smart players and ones that can pass and shoot. kidd is one of, if not the, smartest PGs in the history of the game. morrow doesn't need handles to create for himself. the triangle is predicated on spacing and passing, and taking what the defense gives you. he doesn't have to be jordan or kobe.

In order to have a Triangle Offense, EVERY player needs to be able to pass.

Believe me, I'm not tryng to insult your intelligence because I know you are a smart dude, but I think you got this one wrong.

Watch this clip. Look at Fisher's role. It' very small, and this is the very basic fundamental play in the triangle.

I'm not liking the Gortat pick too much but he is one of the younger centers left I suppose.

like the title says, its ONE triangle attack. there are many. plus, kidd has turned into one of the best 3PT shooting PGs in the league last year, shooting 42.5%, the same as nash, which is needed. having kidd only helps me, no matter what system i have.
