I know the dude who owns the Clip have been skipped quite a few times, unfortunately so has Mugzi. I can understand the picks that are skipped that fall during overnight hours. But there needs to be better communication between the participants to at least let us know you will be unavailable, and at least email or PM a draft selection. I don't understand what is so hard about that.

I know Knicks1214 said last night that he was going to be going on a Cruise on Sunday, he's another one who hasn't been around to make his selection each go around. I sure hope he takes my advice of PMing a draft board.

Im very active and i have been skipped twice so far, but thats because my pick started beyond 12am. But also no one has picked before me. Ive always gotten my pick in before anyone.

For those having a tough time understanding the direction of the Houston Rockets' picks...

For anyone who thinks we picked up bad contracts in Boozer and Lewis, we've picked up cheap young talent among the rest of our players which still leave us well below the salary cap.

Offensively, our team can shoot, drive, and post up against anyone.
Defensively, we are average to above average from 1 to 5.

Veterans
Carlos Boozer
- Smartest post game out of any power forward that was available at his position (30th/31st pick)

Rashard Lewis:
- One of the absolute best shooters available where he was drafted (90th/91st pick)
- Spreads the floor for Boozer and Gasol to kick it out or work easier in the post
- Allows for Flynn, Brewer, and Lee to drive the hoop at will
- Tall SF at 6'10, best mismatch available
- All-around offensive game. If we need a clutch bucket, he's our guy

Young Studs
Marc Gasol:
- Cheap
- Best and biggest (7'1) young center with most upside available at his position (30th/31st pick)
- Proved he could play with a ball dominant PF in Zach Randolph and still put up
excellent numbers. Could put up as good or better numbers alongside Boozer

Jonny Flynn:
- Cheap
- Best combination of upside and current productivity at point guard available where
he was drafted (90th/91st pick)
- Can count on him to run the pick & roll, pick & pop, drive and dish, throw up alley oops, and score.

Courtney Lee:
- Cheap, a lot of upside
- Athletic, and already a proven starter on both ends of the floor
- Not only can he spread the floor with his shooting, but he can go hard to the hoop

Corey Brewer
- Cheap, a lot of upside but has also already proven he can produce immediately on both ends of the floor
- Young, VERY athletic, tall at 6'9
- Either a starter or multi-versatile 6th man who in our rotation can back-up Lee, Lewis, Boozer, and Gasol.

ctorres, only things I have against your team is:

1. Whos your # 1 guy? Can that guy be the number 1 on a championship team?

2. If not a championship team why take on all that money in the future for Rashard? His play has deteriorated and looks like age is catching up. His play will make him extremely overpaid. Hell be a 22 million backup soon.

Ed Davis was number 2 on my list to pick. Good pick.

haha yeah I think we're targeting similar players- I was considering Thabeet as a replacement for Hibbert- people have written him off but he had a very good summer league (11ppg,9 rpg, 3bpg). was actually thinking about trading for that pick earlier... just keep me in mind if you ever want to trade him

Yeah. Guys like Javale McGee got picked in the 3rd round. Theres not much difference between the two. Both have very high potential but one has much more hype on him. Even if he gives me something like 4ppg, 4rpg, 1.5bpg in 15 minutes, hed be a good fit.

There's a noticeable difference between McGee and Thabeet though. McGee's athleticism far outdistances Thabeets and despite being younger McGee is quite a bit more advanced/versatile than Thabeet.

Thabeet actually has quick feet for a bigman. Also very happy with my Reddick B.Miller pick up. I needed another solid vet up front...maybe he can help out BEEDS

His athleticism is freakish but Thabeet is no slouch and McGee's offensive game looks a little better but thats only because he has been in the league a bit longer. Is there really THAT much difference between the two?

Plus in the third round you draft someone who is going to be the third most valuable guy on your team. Is McGee a third best guy on a team ever? Maybe, but its very unlikely.

Thabeet was drafted in the 7th round for me to be my 10th guy. Can he be a solid bench guy for me? I would say its very likely.

I realize big men are valuable but you cannot say the wow factor and hype didnt get McGee drafted that high and the "bust" after one year of solid backup play, didnt get him picked here.

Oh I don't necessarily disagree that McGee in the 3rd was kinda a surprise but I think there's both more immediate impact and higher upside with McGee. I dont' think either of us would disagree that if you had to pick one or the other you'd go McGee. That's really all I'm saying. But yes, if McGee was worth a 3rd round pick, Thabeet here would be considered a great pick.

Yeah. I dont disagree. I would obviously have McGee but I am saying the difference isnt vast. And I think that Thabeet here is a great pick.

We're looking to go the route of the 2004 Pistons, but slightly more talented. No clear cut #1 guy, but guys who are solid 2nd and 3rd options all around. We have a lot of faith in Jonny Flynn becoming an allstar point guard at the level of a Chauncey Billups or close to it. Flynn has more talent than both Jameer Nelson and Mo Williams who both became all star point guards.

When you are building a team starting with a late 1st round pick, you can't just hope a superstar magically falls to you. You do your best to build an all-around team that will battle with any team centered around a superstar. If our team can't win a championship, well I'm sure we're built to at least contend for one. We have youth, upside, and veteran leadership on our side.

Any thoughts on my GS Warriors team?

Mock Draft 4.0 - Warriors

[pg] - George Hill
[sg] - Kobe Bryant / JR Smith
[sf] - Matt Barnes / Kyle Korver
[pf] - Jason Thompson
[c ] - Nene / Chris Anderson

I feel my team is a lot stronger than my team from 3.0. Since I have Kobe, my team has to be considered in the contender category. The key to my team would be if Kobe can elevate the play of my front-court. I expect Jason Thompson to make big strides in his 3rd season in the league. He is a very active rebounder and has a solid mid range shot.

I was trying to put together a strong defensive team to go along with Kobe. Hill, Kobe, and Barnes is a very solid trio on defense and JR Smith while he is a bit of a loose canon is a strong defender when he wants to be.

Kyle Lowry was on the board way to long...I thought I might had to snag him up if he kept on falling.
