There's a certain guy who I'm surprised hasn't been picked as yet. I know many on this board don't like him much, but damn I can't believe he's still waiting on a phone call.

I think I know who you're talking about. It seems that either people straight up forgot about him or don't need him because there's better options out there.

He's actually on my list who I'm considering to pick soon

There's still some very solid talent left. My last pick was a real struggle because there was so many good guys left. In the end I just decided to go with fit with Lowry.

I really like your team if you can get a true 2 guard. I think that's the main thing missing.

We have a lot of faith in Jonny Flynn becoming an allstar point guard at the level of a Chauncey Billups or close to it. Flynn has more talent than both Jameer Nelson and Mo Williams who both became all star point guards.

When you are building a team starting with a late 1st round pick, you can't just hope a superstar magically falls to you. You do your best to build an all-around team that will battle with any team centered around a superstar. If our team can't win a championship, well I'm sure we're built to at least contend for one. We have youth, upside, and veteran leadership on our side.

If you look at the 2004 Pistons you realize that team is IMO much better. Looks at their starting lineup. You had an in his prime Rasheed Wallace, and in his prime Ben Wallace, in his prime Chauncey Billups, in his prime, Rip Hamilton and a great defender 2nd year guy in Prince. Also you had Okur on the bench. That team had 3 offensive number 2 options and 1 great defensive player.
Also Courtney lee, in his time on a contender, the magic, showed that he shares many qualities with rip, such as his constant movement, ability to score the ball exceptionally well from mid range and the corners.
Tayshaun in 2004 can't be compared to reshard even last year, he is very much not mr lewis' requal.
Carlos boozers post

Flynn looked lost last year and i think that Nelson is more talented(not more athletic but talented). Lewis is already on the way down.

I agree that your pick wasnt in a great position but I dont like your team nevertheless

While we may not yet appear to be instant contenders this team would make a lot of noise and with some solid pickups for our bench they could be contenders and definitely contenders next year with another year of experience under their belt.
While jameee Nelson may have seemed the better point gaurd last year we feel mr. Flynn will make the strides necessary to become a far superior point gaurd this year
Courtney lee showed in Orlando that he will develop into a player comparable to rip as he already shares many qualities such as his midrange game, his constant movement, and his ability to hit the three.
Rashard lewis at this point in his career is still superior to a 2004 tayshaun and whatever athleticism rashard lacks is made up for and more by Corey brewer who has shown he can be a key component on a championship team, Florida.
Carlos boozers game is similar to rasheeds game but without a 3pt game, which this team isn't lacking and at times where a stretch 4 is necessary we can put rashard or brewer here.
Marc gasol isn't a 4time dpoy but he is a good defender and he has a MUCH better offensive game than ben.
We also feel whatever this team lacks can be made up for by it's bench and it's versatility, namely it's ability to switch up it's matchups with ease

Now THIS is a VP of Basketball of Operations in action!

I like everyone except Charlie V. I can think of a good 3 guys that bring the same thing and cost much cheaper. I love the fit and think that your team is a perfect run and gun team. I like your team sans no hair.

1. I'm glad you're in the eastern conference if that's worth anything

2. Contenders for sure.

Tips: Move LBJ to the 3 if you can, and Tyrus to the backup 4. Jamison and Thomas off the bench is very nice. Get a decent shooting guard (I know of one but can't say)...and you are set my man. Aside from positional issues in your starting lineup, which can be fixed...very good job so far in building a team that will contend for the chip.

Looks like you built a team for Wade/Kobe, not LeBron.

Either way, killer squad.

I LOVE the Curry and Manu combo. Both are strong shooters and very crafty players, I would also consider them to be underrated defenders as well.

Artest is a nice fit as well as long as he plays within the offense. Him and Camby bring the defense and toughness your team needs. Not crazy about the Villanueva pick though. I would have preferred a tougher PF than can run the pick and roll with Curry and Manu.

Villanueva would be a nice option off the bench for your team but i don't like him starting. IMO, your two biggest needs are a tough athletic finisher as your PF and a another PG option to give Curry help at PG.

You have Lebron James and all who is always going to uplift any team he plays on, but I don't agree with putting him at SG, and then drafting two power forwards primarily for the SF spot. Although I do believe Jamison can play SF effectively, I wouldn't want Tyrus Thomas on the perimeter but within the 3PT line. David West is a solid PF, and Jose Calderon is alright, but there are a few PGs I would have taken over him. I think you also need some outside shooters as well.

Overall not a bad team, will make the playoffs for sure but I'm not certain of the fit of your roster. I think you might need to make some trades..and who knows maybe TheBluest is the perfect trading partner for you. Just my 2 cents though.

He's been called, but he misstook a turkey drumstick for the phone and didn't pick up so the GM had to take someone else. Yes, I think we all know who it is. :D

Thanks for the comments.

Warriors -
You drafted the best basketball player in the world. Congratulations!

Kobe is a true warrior. He commands a high level of play from his team mates, and knows how to get the best out of each and everyone of them.

George Hill is a stud of course. He can defend, and is very quick, and smart.

Matt Barnes to me is that dirty player and defender you need that will dive for loose balls and pressure the offense into taking bad shots. He's also a decent spot up shooter, similar to Artest.

I love Thompson (after all I drafted him) and think he is under rated. He averaged 12/8/and 1bpg, I think, and he can shoot it. He and Nene compliments each other very well.

Chris Anderson is the definition of energy guy. Only a few possess this qulity, and you have one of them.

Lastly, it seems like you put thought into building your team around KB and I like that...Contender for sure.
