Who starts at sg...T-Will vs Morrow
Once Courtney Lee was traded it became apparent that the battle for starting sg would be between Terrence Williams and Anthony Morrow. Who do you think gets starts and why?
Personally, I'd like to see T-Will start. He really looked great at the end of the season averaging 14 ppg, 7 rpg and 5 apg over the final two months and carried that over into the summer league. I think he's primed for a breakout year. I also think that getting a stretch 4 in Murphy reduces the need for a shooter in the starting lineup.

Re: Who starts at sg...T-Will vs Morrow
i think T-Will will start, we need a scorer coming off the bench in morrow, and since we got jordan farmar, we really don't need T-Will to play backup PG much, so i think he's going to mainly be a 2 from now on , with Outlaw and James manning the 3. I think the Morrow-James combo off the bench serves as a better compliment because morrow is more of a shooter, while james is more of a slasher and likes to post up a bit, i think this will give us some more explosiveness coming off that bench, and if farmar plays under control and favors gets the memo early , we will be fine and i see a possible playoff run this year.

This is the exact reason why I think Morrow SHOULD start. Twill is a very good scorer and passer and would probably flourish playing with farmar on the second unit. Think about it, Farmar isn't a great play maker and a second unit of Farmar, Twill, James, Favors, and Petro sounds pretty solid to me. Twilll has more to offer the Nets by coming off the bench because you know you'll be getting play making and scoring while with Morrow you know that you'll just be getting shooting. With Morrow starting, we can start off every game with the floor spread and have Morrow, Outlaw, and Murphy as long range weapons while Harris and Lopez do their thing in the paint.
Also, Harris and Twill starting pretty much means no perimeter game from our guards. This is just my opinion though.

Re: Who starts at sg...T-Will vs Morrow
Twil fits the 6th man role better because he can create his own shot and handle the ball, which Morrow can't. Harris and Twil aren't a great fit together right now because neither play off the ball particularly well.

Re: Who starts at sg...T-Will vs Morrow
^^^ Exactly. And I think it would balance our roster if we had a guard that can attack the basket (Harris) and a pure shooter to spread the floor (Morrow). Our starting lineup brings a lot to the table potential and having Twill come off the bench just makes our second unit that much stronger IMO.

^^This.
The Harris/Morrow is a much better combo than Harris/T-Will..

Re: Who starts at sg...T-Will vs Morrow
If Morrow comes off the bench we have absolutely no 3 point shooting on the bench. Maybe dumbo can surprise us, don´t sleep on the guy, remember Avery was very high on him.

I think we'll be fine...James and Farmar can hit the 3 pretty well (even though both are streaky) but either way it's not like the bench is going to always be those 5 players, I'm sure Avery will mix and match to find which players work the best together.

^^ There we go JJ! Now it's REALLY set in stone!!
I agree completely though. (and for what it's worth, this lineup is sickkkk in 2k10!)

yeh that seems like a fun lineup...I hope we can stay healthy and get things done on the real court, while developing our young guys...

Re: Who starts at sg...T-Will vs Morrow
FOR NOW, I would start Morrow, his 3pt shooting abilities would be utilized best with the starting unit, T-will will be a great 6th man option right now while he's still learning, plus he will get used to playing alongside Derrick Favors, but once they both develop into the studs I'm sure they will be, they should be moved into the starting line-up.
Future:
Devin Harris
Terrence Williams
???
Derrick Favors
Brook Lopez
Jordan Farmar
Anthony Morrow
Damien James
Travis Outlaw***6th man

I hope Twill starts..he played great in summer league and I think he already has chemistry with Harris and Lopez. Morrow can be the shooter/scorer off the bench that we need. Either way they both will split minutes at SG so it doesnt really matter but I likeTWill's game more and I think he's a better player than Morrow..plus he's a better defender

Re: Who starts at sg...T-Will vs Morrow
Competition is a great thing to have. Especially when you are talking about 2 young players with the tools to be very good scorers. Both players have aspects of their game that would translate well to being 6th men. Morrow would give the team a really good shooter off the bench, TWill would be a high energy type. Since we can't really go wrong with either one my guess is Avery starts whichever player works harder on the defensive end of the floor. Assuming his head is on straight that leans me towards Twill getting the nod.
I would also assuming that Avery is developing a good relationship with TWill based on Lee getting traded. In the Summer League Twill talked at length about the fact that Avery was really trying to take him under his wing. Im sure much of their time together was a trial period and if Avery didn't like his attitude he would have been shipped out for a PF and Lee would be competing with Morrow.

Harris
Morrow
Outlaw
FAVORS
Lopez
Bench:
Farmar
Twill
James
Murphy
Petro/Favors
I think putting Favors in the starting line-up gives our bench more outside shooting (due to Murphy sliding to the bench). We also saw that Favors didn't play quite as well with Twill...so putting him in the starting line-up (where he can just play off Devin/Lopez) would be better.
Our bench will then have some rugged players in Twill/James/Murphy.

I wouldn´t go with that right away. The main reason we brought Murphy in was to make Favors progress smoother. Now if by allstar break the guy is showing some ROY potential, start em!

If Favors is ready to start, I'm all for it...whether or not he is ready, I highly doubt Avery starts a rookie...we shall see brahh...

I sign start Morrow and T-Will comes off bench.
And T-Will can play 3 sometimes.
