I don't see any reason for us to do that, at best its a lateral move in which we take on more salary

No need for Curry. We already have Yao injury insurance in Miller, Hill, and Hayes.

Taylor has potential; I doubt he's going anywhere.

We don't need Tony Douglas... and if there was a reason to get Eddy Curry it would be for cap relief but that's a different story.

It's not worth the trade

Give us another couple dozen draft picks and we might consider it.

I think that there is a better chance of Shane Battier headlining a performance of Wagner's Lohengrin down at Jones Hall than this trade ever being considered by Houston.

This, but replace Lohengrin with Der Ring Des Nibelungen. The 4-part ring cycle. With every male role performed by Battier.

The fat ladies can by played by Eddy Curry.

You know you want to touch it, Dave.

How about doing business with the Pacers. Looking at RealGM and the Depth Chart, it seems that your club could use a PG and Wing player; however, you are stocked at the PF and Center position.
Indiana needs a PF and is stocked at the Wing/PG position.

I makes sense that we should talk.

Pacer stable available:
PG= TJ Ford
2-3= B. Rush, M. Dunleavy, D. Jones

In your stable availabe:
PF= Patterson, Hayes, Jeffries, Jordan

What combination would be worth considering??
We would be interested in discussing Yao to make salaries work for the high end price tags.

Um... no, we don't. We're stacked at least two deep at every position, and Yao isn't going anywhere.

C: Yao/Miller/Hill/Hayes
PF: Scola/Patterson/Hill/Jeffries
SF: Battier/Budinger/Jeffries
SG: Martin/Lee/Taylor/Budinger
PG: Brooks/Lowry/Lee

Ford is nothing at this point; Rush is a good shooter (but so are Brooks, Lee, Martin, Taylor...); Dunleavy is an intelligent player but not worth 10M even if he does come off the books next year; Jones would get absolutely zero playing time behind our wings.

We have no holes the way our team is constructed. Wing scoring, deadly shooters, post scoring, playmaking, interior defense, perimeter defense, superstar anchor, you name it.

If you want to trade us a world-class trainer to keep Yao and Martin healthy for Jeffries, done. Other than that, you've got nothing to offer.

I forgot to mention that Morey won't pay 6.5M for a guy that averaged 5 points on .365 shooting last year.

Rockets are too well-managed to take your castoffs, dude. Sorry.

But have fun with them.

And hey, now we have Ishmael Smith! A speedy little point guard like TJ Ford for a fraction of the price!

So, um, no.

why would you say houston needs a PG?? We have a legit starter in Aaron Brooks and we just paid a lot at the backup PG position in Kyle Lowry...

And the wing we have Kevin Martin,Shane Battier, Buddinger, and just recently got Lee...

You forgot Jermaine Taylor and Ishmael Smith.

And Lee can play spot minutes at the 1, I'd guess, if we want to go big. Lee/Martin/Battier/Hill/Yao? Yikes.

oh come on, Ford beat the Rockets in a game this past Feb with 23 points in 24 minutes

Ford hit three straight baskets in the late third-quarter charge.

“The guys I had out on the court did a terrific job,” Pacers coach Jim O’Brien said. “We were calling T.J.’s number and Houston was having a difficult job guarding our spread offense. When we can space the court and defense the ball at a high level, then we are obviously a tough team to beat.”

Houston had a 108-105 lead with 5:12 to play, but Ford hit a 3-point basket and added two more 2-point baskets for a 112-108 lead the Pacers never lost.

There's a long history in the NBA of scrubs getting hot enough to go off. Several have gone for 40-50. Heck, McGrady had 3 20+ point games last season.
