Let me dream a minute

Post#1 » by Solid » Fri Aug 13, 2010 1:33 pm

Let me be optimistic for a moment.
In Two years
Let's see Lance as a well adjusted steal, fulfilling his early promise. a budding star at two positions.
Let's see George...likewise.
Let's see Rush, solidify his Jumper, continue to improve his D. Could start anywhere if it weren't for the first two.
Granger, multiple all-star in his prime
Hansborough, perfect compliment. 15 and 8 and we never run a play for him. Proud defender of the backside paint.
Rolle as a fine two position backup.
Hib an all-star in the east. 16 and 8. Would be more if he weren't Surrounded by such terrific options.

1. Collison/ Lance. Big and small, defense and offense. With some luck could be one of the best point pairs in the league in a couple years.

2. George/Lance/Rush. Not great at the moment but again in two years what if George does become a slightly smaller Granger! Wow, and I think the others still have some headroom. And Lance may yet be the best of the bunch here also. Again Large and small, should be able to cover anyone. This year should be interesting to watch the two spot.

3. Granger, Dun , George, Posey. Nothing needs to be added here.

4. Hansborough , Mcbob , Rolle - If healthy is a very good fit between Hib and Danny. Nasty, aggressive, high motor. Don't need to run alot of offense for him. With potential all-stars at every other position. A blue collar brawler is perfect here. We may not need Horford at all... but he's welcome!

5. Hib, Foster, Rolle - I expect really good things from the big fella this year. Less fouls, more boards, greater confidence. An anchor amidst the swirling motion of Granger, George and Collison.

Oh Yeah. We'll have Mike Brown too.
....It COULD Happen 8-)
Let's Play!

Let's go Pacers baby! This could happen, I'm confident in Hibbert the most!

How about Jeff Van Gundy? Or Mark Jackson?

you'll take an O'Brien. basically what you are saying is that Bird's plan is starting to work. since O'B is the coach he selected to carry out it, absent a major step backwards this year, I think we'll see both Larry and Jim back next year too.

I dont think so! JOB is not a quality coach, he never has been and never will be. You have to have a quality coach to get to the next level

Rick Adelman - 902 wins 577 losses Win loss percentage .610 and 2 championships 11 50+ win seasons

JOB - 286 wins 300 losses win loss percentage .488 no championships of course and no 50+ win seasons

Numbers speak for themselves... Do I want Adelman? Sure, will we get him, IDK. But you have to have someone quality to coach not some wanna be

not fair to rate a coach totally on wins and losses without regard to talent. this isn't college where recruiting is part of the coaches job.

I would think absent a major step forwards that there's no reason to think that Obie should be here next year. He hasn't exactly developed any players, nor plays. Without seeing that happen this season, why would we continue with such a young team?

I just don't like his "system".
There was talk when he came in that the Pacers were going to suck for awhile and we'd have a ruff time trying to get a top coach. I think we signed him quick because we felt that was true - Also a run and gun O is at least watchable for awhile.

I have always felt that when we COULD draw a strong coach and were able to field a more competitive team that JOB would be punted. Thin ice this year for him unless he n LB are real good buddies.

I like D and despite my lifelong love of the Pacers I have been almost unable to watch the chuckfest of late.
Mike Brown would suit me well. I think Van Gundy could work too.

I know Bird has said firing Carlisle is one of his biggest regrets and I'm afraid he's going to keep JOB too long because of that mistake.

Very nice prediction.

I believe Hibbert will be an All-Star if your record can support it.

Return to Indiana Pacers
