When you look at the league it's just as many guys from the west coast in the NBA than there is east coast guys.

About every NBA great is from the east or midwest. From Kobe, Mello, Lebron, Durant, Elgin Baylor, MJ, Magic, Bird,Wade, Jerry West.
The west coast breeds soft basketball players. The east coast and midwest boys grew up playing in all kinds of whether on the black top.
I don't know many good west coast cats.
Washington dc has been producing the top prospects for years now.
