Please. If anything, its probably the opposite when it comes to your average man on the street. Small market fans follow their teams with a devotion and attention that many big markets can't match, in part for the simple reason that their sports teams provide the primary source of major entertainment in their markets.

ESPN can jock the Heat initially. But, they will change their tune quickly when they see the fan backlash on their sorry ass network.

They'll jock them regardless, because regardless of "fan backlash" those fans will still be watching the Heat. Television ratings for Heat games will be huge, so ESPN will continue to pimp that team.

Personally, the conflict of interest in the way ESPN covered the whole LeBron thing was appalling. And it will be worse now. Take, for example, Mike Greenberg. Who I like and respect. He was defending "The Decision" up and down, saying that once LeBron made his announcement, no one would care how he did it, but just care about where he's going.

That was so obviously a corporate line argument, that I was really disappointed that he'd attach his name to something so patently counter-intuitive. The minute LeBron's camp announced that they would have the show, the national outrage against LeBron immediately began even before people knew where he would go. And rightfully so.

But ESPN backed him the whole way. And they'll continue to. Because the Heat will earn for that Network. Your best bet is to ignore anything anyone at ESPN says or writes about LeBron from here on out, unless its Bill Simmons, because the marriage has been consumated.

I think the fan backlash is going to make him up his game and try to totally dominate and prove he is the MVP & its not Wade's team - which might not be a good thing for the Heat - something like that could kill Bosh's game. Will be interesting to follow.

Haha, thanks. I was being a little facetious. I did actually miss it cause my DVR didn't record it for whatever reason...but I'll catch a rerun tonight. I would do a torrent, but I figure it will look nicer if I just wait and watch it in HD.

He's already been on an episode, last season..it was actually pretty funny. Matt Damon was in it as well and kept askin Vince for a charity donation for kids. "It's for the kids Vince!"
