I'd like to see our starters play a little longer. Maybe the whole first half. I want to see more of our D line. We saw some good things, but they were so quick we didn't get along look at them.

Denver is the more talented team, but with all their injuries, trading away their good players, and have McDaniels as their HC, I'm not to scared of them.

I'm hoping for an injury free game.

I would like to see how Shuan Hill does against denver.

The Lions also waived offensive guard Roy Schuening and signed tackle Noah Franklin today.

^ The first one wasn't that good. They cut into it late because of golf and then it got rain delayed for over an hour. The only good part was getting the first look at our new Dline and seeing how Matt incorporated all his new weapons. Which he did well. He really involved everyone. Pettigrew didn't pay but Gronkowski and Scheffler got passes at TE. Calvin and Bryant some some touches, and he had the one pass to Jahvid which Jahvid popped up resulting in the INT. The pop up and two overthrows in the endzone to Megatron were Matts only imcompletions. Everyone else caught everything. But Matt did make the adjustment with CJ, which resulted in the touchdown. All in all, the offense looked good. A little rough, but good.

But Matty didn't get sacked once, in fact, no one got near him. Our Oline looked good for the few plays Matt was in there. He'll get sacked, don't get me wrong. But it looks like he might actually get some protection this year and some time to see plays develop. That will help him immensely. Cherilus started at RT despite Jansen getting 1st team reps in TC. Backus had a stupid tripping penalty that cost us, but looking at the replay, the call was questionable.

Pettigrew and Delmas so far aren't hold outs in tonights game. Hopefully both of them will help out and look good out there. Our defense can really use Delmas back there. Randy Phillips looked really good at one safety spot. He had a couple big plays, although one play was overturned after an official review. IIRC it was a fumble recovery. After hearing Cunningham rave about the kid, and seeing his heads up plays against Pittsburgh, he might be playing for the starting spot next to Delmas even though he was brought into camp late.

I want to see more out of our LBers. Follett and Campbell looked good. Dizon got hurt. Levy should be back this game. I'm hoping someone steps up.

Jim Schwartz has said that tonight he's going to be focusing on the return game and field position. We should see a nice battle between Derrick Williams, Aaron Brown and Tim Toone for KR/PR. Williams fair catched a punt on the 3 (?) yd line last game when no one was all up on him. I'm sure that pissed Jim off quite a bit. Aaron Brown is a good returner, I'm pulling for him and Toone.

what a first few possessions.

Best has really impressed me, he is so quick. Line is giving Stafford time and he looks really poised back there. That TD to Megatron was located absolutely perfect. The offense is gunna do damage this year

The D is what i thought. DBs are shaky. Phillips looks active though. Dline has been real good; seeing Suh level the RT on one play made me laugh.

Im giddy with what this team could do

I'am sticking to my 10-6 prediction for season .offence better and defense looks better.

First and goal from the three or four why did'nt they use a full back?

where are the full backs i have not seen them.

Eric King is beyond awful. He doesnt ever know where the ball is. The whole rest of the secondary isnt much better. Though i really liked Randy Phillips; right now i want him to be the starting SS opening day

toone and dorsey look good lions are going to have some tough choices to make on the offence and special teams.

Steven Hauschka (28, 27 and 29 yards).our rookie kicker is better than hanson ,i wish the lions would keep him every kickoff has been in the end zone and made all of his field goals.

lions win 25-20

It was a good game. Still saw more of the same. Our offense can score. The Oline is improved, Stafford will have time to throw. And now he has more options. Scheffler should have caught that pass in the end zone, but he's a good big body on 3rd downs. Our red zone offense needs work, big time!! 1st & goal and get held to a FG? more than once? unacceptable!!

Our starting Dline is destructive!!! They are going to make things difficult for opposing teams. We really need our LBers and secondary to step up. I think Delmas/Phillips will be fine... but our corners need work. I thought that call on Houston was BS. The receiver had him in a headlock and it's PI on him? Dre Bly with the INT was beautiful. If Wades finger isn't ready to start the season, I wouldn't mind seeing Houston/Bly as our starting CBs.

Our depth is mediocre across the board. You can tell a big difference when the starters come out and the reserves come in. But when you have to build an entire team, you have to start with starters. It's going to take time. All in all, I think we'll win around 6 games this year. With a few losses being very close. We are improving, but we're still not a full team yet. But man, our offense and Dline are going to carry us this year.

GO LIONS!!!!
