Mo Williams expecations

With LeBron gone, and Jamison possibly coming of the bench it seems like Mo Will will have to do a ton of creating for the Cavs this year.

What kind of stats do you see him putting up? Will he jump back to his old Bucks stats or will he deliver something along the lines of a 22-3-7 or simply stay right where he is. Do you feel like he will be capable of creating for others, and increasing his assist number or will he just increase his scoring?

I think he is capable of doing more than he has been allowed in Cleveland. I think 22-3-7 is close. He can take it to the rim when needed, and I think he is an underrated facilitator. A Session/Williams back court should be fun to watch... on offense.

He'lllikely increase his assist numbers because he'll have the ball in his hands more. I agree that 22-3-7 is reasonable.

This is not meant as a slight against Williams, but with a lot of the pressure now gone in terms of team expectations, I believe he will have a fantastic year. 20-22 PPG, IMO. His play should increase his trade value for teams looking to add a shooter.

I agree. I really want to send Mo Williams to a championship contender. He is actually a guy that campaigned to stay in Cleveland. Unfortunately, I just don't think he fits into the Cavs future. If possible, I would love to keep him. The front office should certainly not give him away.

he's in a tough spot as i think this year his stats will go up and the cavs will demand more for him in a trade than other teams would be willing to shell out

It is hard to say. What if Atlanta has some players really step up and they are legit contenders, would they give up any picks talent combined with Bibby for Mo? Same goes for Portland, if they remain healthy, and are looking to make a title run, what would they be willing to give up for Mo. Not to mention the potential injuries that can happen. We will just have to wait and see.

Mo will play well. He played well of James, but as he showed in MIL he can get his own as well. I think he will elevate his trade value for sure.

Long term I would still likely seek to trade him because of his defensive limitations, but for now we should hold onto him.

I think Mo (as well as Jamison and AV) would all be good fits on Charlotte.

If he stays healthy Mo will easily average over 20PPG. It will be interesting to see what he can do with the ball in his hands a bit more this season.

I am not expecting Mo to become an MVP caliber player, but what is stopping someone like Mo from becoming the next Steve Nash? Both are great shooters and mediocre to poor defenders. Mo will be playing in an uptempo offense for the first time. Mo seems to have a high enough basketball IQ, maybe he spent his summer watching film of Nash?

lol. Mo will never ever come close to Nash when it comes to BBIQ, vision, playmaking ability, etc.

I expect him to revert back to his Milwaukee stats. That won't exactly make him super valuable to other teams but he should definitely be moved before the deadline.

Moe is not talented enough to be mentioned in the same breath as Nash

I could see Williams putting up 22, but I think 25 is a huge stretch to me.

The difference between Nash and Mo is... Mo is a shoot first PG and Nash is a far better playmaker. I don't think it is a close comparison at all.

And I think it's just me but I don't even see Mo averaging 20 PPG, let alone 25.
