D.J. Hackett
According to the WaPo, Hackett is scheduled to visit the Redskins on Wednesday. I doubt that even the 'Skins would throw a lot of money his way, but you never know with them.

Maybe it's the Jim Zorn connection.
Agree with MrNate. If you extrapolate Hackett's production from 6 games last year to 16, he's about a 1,050-yard receiver, which is pretty solid. Of course, just staying healthy for 16 games is part of the value of such a player, and we haven't seen Hackett be able to do that. And I wonder if he did the team more harm than good when they planned for the season based on him being in the lineup, then had to change things around.
I'd like to re-sign him to a smart, fair deal -- he does bring a different dimension than our other established receivers. But if he leaves, there's a decent chance the Auburn guys, Ben Obomanu and/or Courtney Taylor, might be able to match his production, or at least come close.

And he's going to Carolina. Two years, $3.5 million. Dang, that's pretty cheap. I would have wanted to match that.

I bet that we probably could have, maybe he just wanted to get out of Seattle?
