Ron switching his number to 15

Post#1 » by The Skyhook » Fri Aug 20, 2010 8:16 pm

Ron Artest’s No. 37 jersey is going to be a one-hit wonder.

Artest will be wearing No. 15 next season for the Lakers. Artest wore No. 37 in his first season as a Laker in a tribute to the late Michael Jackson, whose “Thriller” album stayed atop the pop charts for 37 weeks. Artest became a champion wearing No. 37, but he put in the request late last season with the NBA to switch to his college number at St. John’s and the first number he wore in his NBA career: 15.

Looks like my #37 just became a collector's item. I like 15 more anyway. It looks more....natural.

i liked the 37. he wore that # to honor Michael Jackson, but i thought it was kinda cool how he was suspended for 73 games ( 37 when you switch them around) his favorite player was Dennis Rodman who wore 73 with the lakers ( 37 switched around).

I'm in the same boat as you. I don't mind buying another Artest jersey because 15 will just look a lot better.

Thriller Michael changed for a black man to a white woman anyway. 15 is gonna look great on him.

I liked 37.... It was just a different number for a different kind of player.

Time to change for him I guess.
I like all the numbers he picked before.
I like the way he honors Dennis Rodman too.

Word on the street is he did it to honor Jordan .... because he didn't want to say that he was 14 numbers better than him.

37 always looked rather weird. I thought he was going to take 15 initially.

I thought he should take #8. 8-)

A number is just a number. Kobe changed and it just sold more jerseys to those desperate to have another one.

It is a good idea for Ron to change. Anything that remotely reminds anyone of the child Molster needs to be changed.
