corona wrote:once again...why the heck do you want melo so bad? 2 years ago the entire city thought he was a cowardly bitch.

we had to deal with knicks fans coming in here weekly to bash him.

and now we gotta deal with this crap daily. and its not like a frontcourt including melo and stoudemire will strike fear in the eyes of lebron & co. they'll roll right through that defense like its not even there. sorta like this: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zh9ptryITdQ

if you really think he's coming to new york...fine. there's no use in trying desperately to convince every single one of us that he is. it won't get him there any quicker.

Corona for the win. :)

The landscape of the NBA can change in a New York minute. I don't understand this New York bravado. New York is a wonderful city, but it is not the city for me, and for all players. Humility? Dude come on Heat fans (and suddenly there are a ton of them) have followed the 3 queens in being some of the most arrogant people there is. See I can generalize too right? Not right either right? Or is it not right if its any other teams fans but right if were talking about Knick fans?

As far as Knick fans jumping on the Carmelo train? Let's take a look at the checklist:

1. Said hed love to come back east and play. - Check

2. His wife said that hed be thrilled to be a Knick. - Check

3. Two of his closest friends in the game have talked about playing with the Knicks - Check.

4. One of them is already on the Knicks (a big deal when talking "how about the Nets" as apparently playing with friends was THE reason for Lebron going to Miami). - Check.

6. The Knicks have clearly left themselves in position to sign another max FA. - Check

7. Walsh has confirmed that it wasn't just about 2010 and that its always been about getting at least 2 max FA's - Check.

8. The Knicks also have contracts that can be shed easily to open up capspace for a 3rd max FA (thanks to having all their projected long term contracts belonging to talented young players). - Check

9. Carmelo would be larger than life in NY (just like Lebron would have) and ESPECIALLY after being jilted by Lebron - Check.

Sure Carmelo can end up doing anything but its really funny that some of the most vocal guys on the Nugget board about belittling the Knicks and sounding the "rallying cry" about doing whatever you can to keep Carmelo are Heat fans....who then when questioned about motives say "oh we don't care about Melo going to NY (the same conference) and potentially forming a Big 3" we are just Nugget fans?

Dude...come on. Who are you trying to fool? You guys don't want Melo in NY because it would potentially offer up a threat to the "8 guaranteed championshis" and gloaters rights.

Maybe I'm a bad Knick fan (I'm a die hard though) but we should STFU, there was a similar level of bravado with the LBJ thing and were left looking like f'ng fools. We are in a good spot to continue improving the roster...what ever happens, happens.

Yes. Knick fans should absolutely STFU (not necessary regardless of the signs). I was actually hesitant and posting this at all (and do apologize to Nugget fans) but had to (for some Heat fans hypocrisy in this matter).

Why are Knick fans attacking me. Don't hate me, blame Knicks management for not have a Championship contending team. Imagine if you guys had Brandon Jennings instead of Jordan Hill. All I did was point our that Carmelo to the Knicks is not a given. I even said that New York is wonderful city. I never said anything about the Heat. I'm on a Nuggets board, and I'm not here to gloat. I would welcome back the New York rivalry. Knick fans need to focus their attention on Chris Paul. My best friend is Knick fan, and he knows what's up. Chris Paul can create offense and get wide open shots for people. As much as Carmelo is gifted at putting the ball in the basket. He does not create shots for other people. Carmelo would shoot 50% with Paul running the point.

How can he play for the Nuggs if he is planning to leave.
It would be interesting to see him play in Nuggs uniform and I think the NBA player situation got worst since James' stupid decision.

Now, they are hurting the NBA.

Doesn't matter one way or another, The Jazz are going to spank the Nugs and knock them out of the playoffs again regardless.

Should have known the Jazz trolls would have to start taking their shots now. We shall see what happens soon enough.

Weren't the Nuggets in the conference finals two years ago and actually had a shot at beating the Lakers? If they're healthy, they're the best team in the west and you know it.

Just an FYI, the Jazz were far more injured than the Nuggets were in that series.

The Jazz had Dantley coaching who coincidently is a Jazz great.

So there was no doubt we got screwed to the bone by the refs.

even though im a celtics fan i love watching the nuggets their entertaining and have really good players. I'd hope melo would stay the nuggets are a top 3 team in the west with karl coaching i think with him leaving it really took the air out of them. If i was melo id wait it out play this season with the nuggets and see what happens. he has till next summer to sign that extension

Yeah they did, but whenever AC came in to games, LAL would take control of the games. Guy is a horrible PG and GK was also playing him at SG. Don't know if I'd say Denver is the best in the west, but if everyone is healthy (last year) and this year, they are easily the 2nd seed.

Why is Melo leaving? Because he's constantly surrounded by mediocre players, on minimum contract, paying significant minutes in the playoffs.

This is directed at realgm Nugget fans...

Do you guys think this could all blow away if the nuggets start off hot? They always say winning solves everything. Melo's got to give the front office a shot to get talent for kmart and/or JR at the deadline before he bails on denver.

Obviously the situation isn't as bad as the media makes it out to be but with him not speaking out against all the trade talk its obvious he's entertaining the thought of leaving. I hope this plays out the same way all the Kobe drama did in LA a few years back. Front office is really gonna have to roll the dice though.

I am actually fine with melo leaving, and I personally think the writing is on the wall. While he could be doing this for the attention, I think it is more then that. I think he wants the attention that helping turn around a franchise in a major market will bring him, he has always been jealous of the attention guys like Lebron and wade have gotten while he was ignored.

With the right package coming back I would trade him today.

Return to Denver Nuggets
