Nick Stauskas - Future of Canadian Basketball - VIDEO
hey guys, heres a new mix i made about one of my good friends who is 16 years old and is only entering grade 11. He's been to so many basketball camps and met so many NBA players and is being scouted daily. He actually left canada (Loyola High School in mississauga) to play high school ball in the states (Connecticut) and has already received offers from various colleges. Michigan (where jalen rose and chris webber went) being one of them.
His dream is to play for duke tho and he's attending a basketball camp this winter and coach K is going to be there so that's gonna be a golden opportunity for him to showcase his talent. He's also flying to phoenix later this month to take part in a small basketball camp Steve Nash and Grant Hill are having.
He gave me some of his footage from last year so i can put a mix together for him so when you watch this video, it's what he was doing at the age of 15. So tell me what you guys think about his talent, and the actual mix. Hope you guys enjoy....

He's got mad ball handling skills. Whether he'll cut it for Duke is debatable.

He's good for his age, and the sky is the limit. It's too bad basketball programs in Canada can't be up to par with those in the states, because if they were Canada would be producing as much talent as the States.

He seems like a very good player. However, I don't really like the mix. This seems too much like a mix for an NBA player. I think you'd be better off with less flashy editing, and more of him actually playing basketball. I'm assuming every three pointer he shot in the video went in, but it seems like a cheap basketball movie that transitions to only showing the ball go in the hoop (and not how it got there).

Might be a special one...if he is hungry as he needs to be, then he'll make it. But there's been a lot that came and went....far far away lol.

He definitely has a pretty smooth jumper, has some athleticism, as well as a pretty good handle, the only thing that is suspect is the talent that he faces in Canada, he can only improve so much before college playing against Canadians talent where good to great players are rare.

I'm not sure I see NBA in this kids future or even high NCAA div 1 for that matter, however you have every right to be proud of your buddy, he's still better than 99 percent of people out there. He'd certainly catch my eye if were watching hoops in any high school gym. Good on ya for sharing this

i played that kid last year, dropped 52 on us and didnt miss a shot; the majority of them being 3 pointers. our whole defense was focused on him from the get go and we were helpless.... amazing.

"He's slow...", etc... guys, he's 16 years old and his buddy is excited for him. Give him that. Who knows if he'll get into a big school or not... he's going for it, so you gotta give him props for making it that far (+ getting invited to camps, etc...). This board has been so negative lately, can't wait till the season starts and people get some positive vibes flowing
