Kind of...but instead of a fantasy league draft we'd conduct it BAT style (along with head coach selections) and each GM would be responsible for his respective team for a minimum of 2 full NBA seasons. We could upload the rosters into Yahoo Fantasy NBA for weekly head-to-head matchups (if possible with 30 teams, not sure). We'd have a simulated NBA trade-deadline, all-star game selections, MVP, ROY, MIP, awards, etc. We'd even have our own free agency period after year 1.

Yes and No pretty similar to what 2010 posted but slight variation. Data doesn't have to be inserted into Yahoo. All we have to do is go to our DC and update what the main stats are for each player on our rosters and the judges can proceed from there how the numbers dictate change in rankings. Take for instance in Fantasy we know pts are awarded for particular statistical categories but with this you don't get pts based off individual stats on a nightly basis, the judges simply change the Power Rankings based off the numbers players are producing on team rosters. We can even set a criteria of how often Power Rankings should come out. Teams can get awarded pts for having players who win Player Of The Month Rookie of The Month...Leading Scorers/Rebounders/Ast/FG%/Stls/ etc etc you know ish like this.....But you don't awards pts for nightly match-ups based on what stats they get I'd prefer it to be accumulative and happen on a interval cycle.

2010 although we're GMs I think we'd make excellent committee members......lol

I concur, which is why if a committee is established I'd definitely be down to be one of the forefathers who helps to create the official guidelines of the committee and the requirements of any keepers league and the requirements of all participants.

A committee should be of guys having nothing to do with the league, not GM's in the league.

Why? To be honest the veteran GMs in the league are more well-versed in the ins & outs, pros and cons of past BAT's. Whereas outsiders who have not actively participated in BAT's may not be as in tune with the flaws that have negatively impacted past renditions. I don't really see it as a conflict of interest at all. It's kind of like how if you want to become an NBA owner (regardless of your wealth) you must be approved by all other owners in the league. How does it hurt to have you three mods (MagnumT, Moocow, nyknicks2k2) along with a couple other veteran posters/GMs to establish strict rules and guidelines for a keepers league and implement an approval process for the rest of the GMs who are awarded franchises (as opposed to just doing another first come, first serve, sign-up thread).

I can still see there being bitching about bias, even when there isn't any. That's what happens around here.

This.

We won't be able to please everyone and everyone will have ideas that contradict others. This is my 7th BAT (and I've been in all of them to know for a fact).

There will be no committee on decisions (it will still between Moo, me, and Nyknicks2k2). BUT, as I mentioned earlier in the Discussion Thread 2, I have a running list of GMs that will automatically retain or get a Team, and the spots left will be screened.

Am I on that list, have I proven to be a reliable GM in these past two BAT's? Just curious, so I know to either rush to the next BAT sign ups, or just know my spot will be saved.

Well Mags, how do you feel about a Keepers League?

I thought about it, believe me I did (going back to 2.0).

The problem with it, and why it would fail is that we'd constantly have to keep replacing GMs.

Each BAT is about 1 Month long or so. We have a hard enough time keeping guys on track with Picks, etc during that small timeframe...over a span of a Season (or multiple Seasons), you'd have to much turnover (whether it's active Season or slow Season). Not to mention it would make things unfair to guys who want to start from scratch or get in on the Ground floor, and it will also compete with the annual Knicks Board Fantasy League.

Re-setting the BAT's each time makes it fair to both the new and old blood of the BATs. We will always have cycles of guys coming in and out. For example, you were part of 1 and 2, but not 3, and are back in on 4.

We also have a lot of new posters that would like to get in on future BATs on the ground floor (alluded to above). All around a BAF would sound good, but fail 9 times out of 10 here. It's been tried many times on the RealGM Fantasy Board, but ultimately you get many Vets being replaced as it rolled on and Teams getting stagnant.

IF people want that, they can start an XBox Live League, that's not what BATs were really about, as they're to test people who always say they can do a better job at building a Team than GM "X,Y',Z".

@GallosourFuture: Yes, you are...and so are guys like 2010 and Bluest, etc.

Haha kk. It's all good. I'm gonna be active no matter what. I saw your email Gallosourfuture, and I'm about to go running now so I'll look at it after I get back. If anyone else has any interest in players from my team, email me at realballa1214@yahoo.com . Some players are going to be harder to get, such as Gallinari because I see him as the focal point on my team, but nobody is "untouchable." Everyone can be had for the right price...

I am Ra.. just noticing your convo earlier KLN. If you are interested in Odom, and he wants a scoring four, I am willing to part with Bargs (assuming KLN likes him). I'm pretty much only interested in Bynum coming back my way, but will part with more than Bargs.
