WWE Reportedly Releases SmackDown Diva

Post#1 » by jeffhardyfan52 » Tue Aug 24, 2010 4:28 am

World Wrestling Entertainment has reportedly released Serena from her contract. Details surrounding her apparent departure have yet to be disclosed.

The official WWE website has yet to release a statement regarding her dismissal from the organization.

Serena made her WWE in-ring debut during last week’s episode of Friday Night SmackDown, defeating Kelly Kelly in a mixed tag match.

Little weird when you consider this:

She was like a 5 time champ in OVW. I was always suprised they never put her in the ring.

I have to say, I'm interested in what the reason for the release is. I can't even comment what this might mean for the SES, because I haven't watched SD! in two months.

According to Dave Meltzer, the decision by WWE to release Serena was made several days ago and, for whatever reason, news of it just got out tonight.

Meltzer also says it was a "disciplinary firing" but no more details have been given out at this point.

Stay tuned for more on this breaking story

Well it looks like it is, but not in a Jeff Hardy sense. From another board:

Corresponding with PWInsider.com, both Figure Four Weekly Online and the Pro Wrestling Torch are reporting that Serena has been released from World Wrestling Entertainment.

While specific details surrounding her abrupt departure from the organization have yet to be disclosed, it said that she was let go in a disciplinary measure. The Pro Wrestling Torch cryptically notes that she was not "living out" her Straight Edge Society persona in public.

The decision to cut the six-time Ohio Valley Wrestling Women's Champion was actually made a few days ago, but word had not surfaced until Monday night.

It would appear that an official announcement has not yet been made by WWE as she's due to make an appearance on this week's edition of Friday Night SmackDown, which was taped last Wednesday. She accompanies Luke Gallows to the ring for a match against Big Show.

That could mean anything. Should could have just been frequenting bars a couple times a month. Since when does the WWE care about staying in character outside of the WWE? Jericho makes appearences on other TV networks all the time as himself.

I think Jericho has earned a little more leeway than Serena has. There is precedence for WWE asking guys to stay in charachter outside of the ring. I know they told the Nexus guys to wear there bands and not give autographs or take pictures with fans.

Something tells me though that this isn't her going to a couple of bars against there wishes. If that'd happened, they would've written her out of the SES and some time in the doghouse and maybe even a demotion back to FCW, but I don't think they would've released her. I'm guessing this is something a little worse, her showing up to events drunk or hard drugs.

Read a report on some sight that it did have to do with her drinking and how it broke character. Supposedly they mentioned it to her on a few times prior to them deciding to let her go though.

Really surprised she hasn't been called a dumb whore/slut in the thread yet.

Isn't Punk injured for the time being? Though I will agree that he should be given more time.

Very surprised that she was released. Maybe she will be brought back when her hair grows back.

IIRC they taped this smackdown 2 weeks ago.

Ohhh man, just realized that her shaving her head all these days is such a commitment to the wwe. Then they just release her after a few slip ups, should have just kicked her out of the straight edge society and gave her a d-push. It's not like that stable needed a diva anyway.

Oh well.

I was surprised to see nothing happen but if it was taped weeks ago it's expected. Why are they taping shows so far in advance? I'm interested to see if she is in the storyline or if they just simply don't explain her absence.

They were doing shows out of the country this week.
