Post#1 » by king125 » Tue Aug 24, 2010 3:53 am

who ya got....

Cousins
Thompson
Greene
Garcia
Evans

with Beno and Landry both coming in quickly. They are both 6 man type guys and will see bulk of playing time with starters.

Is this a who do I want to be the starters thread or is it a who do I think the starters will be thread?

If it's who I want then It's this.

Beno Udrih
Tyreke Evans
Omri Casspi
Jason Thompson
Demarcus Cousins

If it's who do I think will be then this:
Beno Udrih
Tyreke Evans
Donte Greene
Carl Landry
Samuel Dalembert

the 1st lineup is built to get our team to develop for the future. The other lineup is designed to get wins now, and I think we will see the 2nd list as our starting lineup.

Who I want: Beno
Tyreke
Casspi
Landry
Dalembert

Who do I think: Tyreke
Garcia
Casspi
Landry
Dalembert

This is obviously subject to change as the season goes on, these are just what I think the starting lineup ought/will be on opening day.

Beno is definitely starting, he had a great season ...

Beno
Evans
caspi
Landry
Dally

I think that cousins/thompson and definitely garcia will all be coming off the bench. It is extremely tough to predict who our starters will be - I think that the closest race is obviously for the sf spot - its a toss up between caspi and greene.

I think that dally and cousins is really close to - On one hand I think that dally is a vet and would not come over to sac, nor be happy unless he was starting and he has put up consistently good numbers through out his whole career in his respective field of expertise. On the other hand Cousins represents the future, he is an extremely talented young big men and could possibly be the next big dominant big in the nba .. I also believe that the front office wants another ROY and that wont happen unless they find him a lot of playing time and a starting spot... which would most likely mean that he would start... however he is still young and not proven... so we'll see what happens there.

I think the most underrated player on our team, and possibly even in the nba is Carl Landry - everyone says he's to short and is to offensively minded. Sure he is not really a shot blocking threat, but you cannot accuse him of having bad d - his offense is good to, but beyond any of that for his size he is a beast on the boards... his passing/shooting is above average to. He puts up consistent numbers, and consistency is what this team needs.. with consistency alone - I would not be surprised if landry/dally started for the majority of the season.

im fine with either

Beno or Tyreke
Tyreke or Garcia
Casspi
Cousins
Dalembert

obviously Tyreke is 1 or 2. Rebounding/Defense is very important, so that would be the lineup i will use in nba 2k11 at least

According to Jerry Reynolds:

It will be Garcia with Evans in the backourt, along with Casspi, Landry and Dalembert. Gives us a strong bench for sure.

I'm with B2B with what it's most likely going to start out as. Now, what I would like to see is:

PG: Evans
SG: Garcia
SF: Casspi (maybe even experiment with Landry if he's got his shot down)
PF: Cousins
C: Dalembert

That's just a too insane amount of length/size to pass up!

Beno
evans
casspi/donte
landry
dalambert

Beno and tyreke proved they are our best gaurd combo IMO. I think cousins will get the starting nod as the season progresses and he becomes more comfortable. I feel that talent wise our best players are tyreke, cousins, and landry so i hope for the majority of the year those three are in the starting linup. My biggest question is how westphal is gonna play the 4 bigs.

tyreke
Beno

then a combo of either....

landry and greene /casspi and cousins/jt

with dalembert

landry lacks size but can score....why not put our 7 foot SF out there

There isn't really a starting lineup I would hate.

I like them to play some games before I have a preferred starting lineup.

I'm happy with

Evans
Garcia (I'd start him over Beno if Garcia is healthy)
Omri
Landry
Dally

With the knowledge that the only locked starting spot is Evans, and Beno could eventually start over Garcia, Donte over Casspi, and Cousins over Dally.

Evans/Beno
Garcia/Beno/Donte
Omri/Donte
Landry/Thompson/Cousins
Dally/Cousins/Thompson

With a future lineup of

Tyreke
SG - a guy with the same skills and Garcia/Beno but better -
Omri/Donte
Thompson
Cousins

And Landry/Beno/Whiteside off the bench.

Landry should start, we need his offense especially with Dalembert in there. I think if Cousins plays at a high level, and as he gets in better shape and more comfortable he has a good chance of starting at the end of the year. But for now its Landry/Dalembert at the 4 and 5. They're proven vets who compliment each other nicely with a nice mix of offense/defense.

At the 3 I think it goes to Casspi. He's a little more reliable than Greene at this point and has shown a little more. His spot shooting will be big for this team.

With the 2 guard spots one obviously goes to Tyreke. If its down to Cisco or Beno, I prefer Beno. He's better off the dribble and creating offense for himself and others which will take a lot of pressure off Tyreke. Garcia's high energy might be better suited for a bench role as well.

If last year was any indication, then im sure the lineup will change about 5 Billion times. That is the one thing i absolutely could not stand about Westphal.

If Cousins/Thompson both start, Cousins needs to be the C IMO.
