Worlds- recaps of our guys

Post#1 » by Clangus » Sun Aug 22, 2010 12:11 am

Can anyone keep me updated on how our boys played?
Todays game...how was Russ off the ball? Did he spend much time there? How was KD? Did he show leadership? Shoot well? Force shots?

Kevin Durant's played alright. He has to get adjusted to the longer whistle in FIBA rules.

Russell Westbrook has definitely shown up the last couple games. I thought for sure he'd be the guy to get cut, but now I'm not sure that's the case. When he comes in the entire energy of the game changes and he's been a hound defensively.

I still think Russ will get cut, but I don't think he deserves to be.

Westbrook looked pretty awesome against Spain, despite a couple of awkwardly wild drives. Definitely looked good. With and without Durant on the floor, as I recall.

Durant had a great game against spain- 25 pts, 10 rebs, 4 blks (including two in the last 5 seconds to win the game on rubio and fernandez)

Westbrook played the best out of all the PG's against spain but didn't play at all in the 4th quarter. Also, rondo didn't play. Side note, westbrook is way too damn fast, it's terrifying.

Like slick and tsherkin have said Westbrook has been really good the past few games. I am really impressed with his defensive hustle, and penetration in the lane. Still is out of control too much and needs to work on his inconsistent shooting form, but I like what I see.

Nenad looked pretty fierce, really using his body to mix things up.

He was really aggressive on the offensive end.

He wasn't to thrilled when he went to his seat.
