I'll go with Rose. 'Reke has some blackhole problems he needs to fix before we can get an accurate read on his career path.

TYreke is a streaky shooter, and doesn't have a true position. I'm not real sure, I think Rose will.

Re: Tyreke Evans or Derrick Rose?
That's a hard one. They both have huge careers ahead of them. If Rose extends his range to the 3pt line, and his defense continues to improve, its him. If Evans learns how to shoot, and can become effective without the ball in his hands, then its him. If both happen for both players it's a wash.

This is Rose by a mile. Rose is already the better player and he still is the one with more room to grow. Rose's upside is through the roof.
Rose has a very real chance to be a top 5 player in the NBA. Evans simply does not.

Be interested to hear how high you think Evans' ceiling is. Not baiting you or anything because Im a Rose fan, just want to know where you think he peaks at.

It is tough to figure out Evans for the future, because I truely believe that if he ever is on a good team, he will have to learn to play with other people and off the ball. So, a lot depends on his ability to add a jumpshot. If he works, he should be able to gain a solid jumper, but he likely will never be a deadeye. Also, his lack of top of the line athleticism hurts his ability to jump from star to superstar player IMO.
If he is allowed to continue to dominate the ball every trip and adds a jumper, he could add a couple points to his PPG. But, if he ever plays with other good players, I see his numbers coming down some. He will likely be a better player, putting up worse stats once he gets some decent teammates.
I just don't see Evand getting a ton better than he is right now statistically. Not that there is anything wrong with that. But, when you compare him to Rose, who I think is still just scratching the surface on his talent, it is night and day IMO. Evans will never be the best player on an elite team IMO, but Rose surely can be.
No knock on Evans, I am just REALLY high on Rose.

How do you figure that? After Rose's rookie season would you have said that he has potential to be a top 5 NBA player? Evans potential is off the charts IMO. 20PPG, 5RPG, 6APG and 1.5SPG on 46%FG shooting in his rookie season. I'm as a big a fan of Derrick Rose as the next guy, and there's no denying how promising he is(23-25PPG, 7-9APG at best), but Evans has a lot of promise as well. He can be a legit 25-28PPG, 5RPG, 6-8APG, 2SPG in his prime, and thats not over-appreciating how good he is, because you just don't have a season like that, that so few others managed to do by accident.
Tyrekes rookie stats' are very comparable to Rose's second year stats though.
Tyreke: 20.1PPG, 5.3RPG, 5.8APG, 1.5SPG 46%FG
D-Rose: 20.8PPG, 3.8RPG, 5.9APG, .7SPG 49%FG

It has nothing to do with their numbers. Evans put up great numbers, but he also put up inflated numbers by being the only good player on his team with a green light every trip down.
The issue when it comes from going from star to superstar is athleticism. Rose has the pure tools to continue to get a lot better than he is today. Evans does not IMO. Evans is a strong guard, but he is not a great athlete, so his game will not continue to elevate like a guy like Rose's does.
First year player stats speaks more to NBA readiness than it does to where a player will end up over time.

If a player has a green light, I don't think it diminishes how good they are or their potential. Lebron had a "green light" his rookie season and he's arguably the best player in the game. Yes, he's much more athletic than Evans is, but Evans shows more skill than Lebron did, especially at finishing around the basket. I don't think it's too far-fetched that even without an outstanding athletic ability, Tyreke will still improve to a Superstar level.

Re: Tyreke Evans or Derrick Rose?
Evans lack of athleticism is overstated.
He doesn't shows it as much as other guards. Evans may not be elite athletically , hop-wise but he is certainly an excellent, elite athletic player in terms of knowing how to use his body while in air. His body control is elite and his general lateral movement is very good considering his size.
He didn't need elite hops to be lead every guard with the exception of Wade in points in the paint last season. So, if anything, athleticism is overrated in this context of argument.

And Cammo, you are underrating Evans' potential here too.

Evans is still 20 I believe, to say he won't get better statistically (or that his stats will suffer but he'll be a better player) is ridicules. In fact after SAC traded for Landry you saw a jump in APG for Evans. Add in Cousins and an improved Casspi and you'll see Evans dishing it a lot more. His post game and size, on top of his insane handles make him a very unique talent IMO. You're underrating him here.

Re: Tyreke Evans or Derrick Rose?
Rose easily.
I don't see Evans style being very conducive to winning basketball games, he's a guy that will put up big pretty stats and maybe be on a 1st round type of playoff team.

I think it is short-sided to place Evans as a player that can not produce wins in this early stage of his career. Give him a year or two before making some sort of definite conclusion about his projected style of play in relation to team success.

Top 5 in the NBA, not all time. Rose is already on the cusp of the top 10, it is pretty reasonable to see him having a good chance at being a top 5 player. We know he has the athleticism and skills for it. Who in the year 2017 is a lock to be better than him? Only LeBron and Durant IMO.

i know what you meant...and

I can't tell the future to see what happens in 2017, new players might come in and be better than Rose...but as of right now I doubt he will be a top 5 player.
