OT: Hibbert Working With Big Man Coach
If you are Roy Hibbert and you have the choice of spending the summer with one of the following Hall of Fame big men to help work on your game, who do you choose and why?

Olajuwon. You learn foot work, great post moves, defensive positioning from a undersized great player.

The Bobcats got Olajuwon to work with Okafor?

Okafor most either be really clumsy, or a slow learner, or then again maybe Olajuwon's accent was too much for him to understand. I'd love to see them get Olajuwon to teach Tyrus some moves though.

Except that he wasn't an option.

Oh snap, my bad, I didn't see the people we had to choose from. I'd pick Mchale, because of his offensive abilities. Russell was strictly a defensive guy, and Walton's got really bad feet so he probably wouldn't be able to show him too much movement.

Honestly I'm not sure about any of these guys... it's probably pretty different being 7'2" instead of 6'9" or 6'10". I went with Walton for that reason.

Re: OT: Hibbert Working With Big Man Coach
tough call
walton = greatest passing center ever. greatest outlet passer ever. intangibles = grateful dead
mchale = greatest low post game ever. intangible = sense of humor
russell = greatest defensive center ever. intangibles = winner
hmmm.... i say, go for walton. i love passing and i love my dead. win win.

Russell. Probably the only option that can actually demonstrate how to do anything he talks about, yea?

Re: OT: Hibbert Working With Big Man Coach
since Pacer fans want a power forward my choice obviously would be Mchale so they not need to upgrade at pf and cuz he aint 80 and hes not an arrogant douchebag. Emeka was more talented than Dwight in his first season? and Hakeem tried to teach him? LOOOZZRRRRR.... at least hes a good player

Re: OT: Hibbert Working With Big Man Coach
The thing with Hibbert is that he could probably use them all. As Fats said:
walton = greatest passing center ever. greatest outlet passer ever.
Hibbert is great at passing for a 7+ footer with a high BBIQ. Walton would help refine that.
mchale = greatest low post game ever.
Hibbert has some nice footwork/post moves. McHale would help refine that.
russell = greatest defensive center ever.
Hibbert can block shots but needs to stay out of foul trouble. Russell could help that.
For me, I think Russell would be the best for him. I mean, what good are your post moves and passing if you can't stay on the court because of foul trouble?

Ew... these choices kinda suck. I guess McHale wins by default.
Hakeem's the best defensive center ever, arguably the best post play from the center position as well...
Its too bad he couldn't stop Okafor from sucking though.

For me, it is Bill Russell. Olajuwan and Ewing can teach young Centers a thing or two for sure, but Russell is special. He did it all on the Court and I think there are things he can teach from his experience that no others can.

Exactly why Ewing isn't getting any head coach offers.

Dwight was working with Olajuwan this summer too. Honestly, if someone has trained with Hakeem and Ewing...you should put together a better career than Shaq.
