It's good news, they're doing MMA and not bar hopping. This is a new breed we have here, hope no one spoils it.

It's too early to say he's a rotten apple. Who knows maybe we can still tame this kid.

Has anyone else does any MMA work outs? I've been going twice a week for about a month and I'm already noticing a significant change in my body (and I was already in shape prior; fresh out of basic training). It also helps with footwork.

i think that mma workouts can definitely help athletes as it works on explosiveness and stamina all of which apply across the board in a lot of sports

Re: George and Hibbert MMA Workout
^^^^ W/O a doubt American collegiate wrestlers dominate MMA. So if anyone wants to train like an MMA fighter early in life then you should seek to wrestle three styles ( Folkstyle/Freestyle/Greco). Folkstyle is high school/college wrestling and it emphasizes trapping your opponent on bottom. Freestyle and Greco are world-wide styles of wrestling, while folkstyle is the american brand, borrowing a lot of their techniques from the American Indian style.
To me folkstyle wrestling is what seperates the Americans, just ask Southport's Chris Lytle.

Wrestlers fair well but you have to cross train or its not that effective unless you're main objective is to lay n pray. Sometimes guys w/ wrestling backgrounds are terrible at submission defense (and submissions). But ground control and positioning is very important & wrestling helps with that.

Re: George and Hibbert MMA Workout
Absolutely.... one thing wrestlers never do is go to their back, and in MMA style that is the first line of ground defense.
There are definitely different aspects to grasp, but I maintain American collegiate wreslters transition the best. Anderson Silva (Brazilian Jujitsu) just had his ass handed to him by one, only to get lucky with 20 sec. left and earn a submission.
Watch out for Andrew Howe in the future. He is from northern Indiana, and currently wrestles at Wisconsin, where he'll be a junior. He is brutal.

Re: George and Hibbert MMA Workout
The Silva fight almost proves my point. Chael has tapped out 8 times so far in his career. A good example of a wrestler grasping that concept is Matt Hughes. He's picked up 18 wins via submission and only tapped 4 times (once to GSP, once to Penn) in almost 50 fights
