Thought maybe this deserves a thread given recent events
surprising strong finish to the season and the top seed in the
conference.
so what happens next?
as a (wiz) planholder, I got pretty cheap offer ($15/30) to get Mystics
playoff tickets. Anybody else paying attention or possibly going to
Wed's game 1?
I was kinda surprised Marissa Coleman hasn't become a more productive
WNBA player after how she dominated the NCAAs.
Also kudos to the Mystics for their season after losing their best player,
Alana Beard, for the season

Have a conflict Wednesday, but may catch games later, especially if they push on in the playoffs. That's a pretty good price, and it's about time the Mystics had some success. Success beyond league leader in attendance, that is. Go Mystics!

Re: Go Mystics!
Caught a few games on TV this year. We really do have a fairly balanced team. Langhorne is a dbl-dbl machine down low. Harding is the prototypical point guard floor general. Currie is the multifaceted all-around player. Our bench is pretty good with Coleman and the backup center we have (forgot the name at the moment).

So between Mean girls and Mystics games, you've had a pretty busy summer aye Miller?
Bickerstaff: who's up for kickball?!!

Marissa had a pretty good first season but has struggled a bit this year.
Sometimes it takes a while to find your game. Monique Curry and Crystal Langhorne (to a lesser extent) are prime examples of this.
President Donald Trump referred to African countries, Haiti and El Salvador as "shithole" nations during a meeting Thursday and asked why the U.S. can't have more immigrants from Norway.

Re: Go Mystics!
Thrilled to see the Mystics getting some love on this board.
Langhorne is awesome. I never thought she would be this good as a pro, but she's probably one of the 10 best players in the WNBA. Coleman has indeed struggled most of the season but she's played a lot better the last 2-3 weeks...giving the team some quality play off the bench. With Coleman, vet Melvin and Avajon the Mystics have a pretty solid bench mob.
I love Ajavon's take-it-to-the basket-without-fear game. You can tell by her swagger and the way she handles the rock that Ajavon played playground ball with the boys back in her Newark, NJ hometown.
I've gone to couple of games this season and might make it to tomorrow's game.

Re: Go Mystics!
obviously disappointing game last night
I ended up going with daughter II - we got the cheap seats.
If only
A -they defended more like they had generally during the season
B -Coleman had played in the first half (zero pts, 3 fls) like she did in the 2nd (18 pts)
still not completely pessimistic they can win the next 2 games and advance.
But not holding my breath either.
Trev Booker was at the game (showed him on the telescreen 1x) and
I was trying to figure out where he was so I could go by and give him
a 'welcome to WASH greeting'. Alas, I never figured out where he was
sitting.
