I'm not even for the United States, but to say they aren't the best team after winning the 2008 Beijing Gold and having yet to be defeated in any exhibitions is ridiculous. Spain is a good team, but the USA beat them. Greece is a good team, but the USA beat them.

Until someone beats the USA then they are the best team. Simple.

If another country besides American wins the FIBA WC this year I will say that country is the best in the world.

Then, why don't you say Spain is the best team in the world since they won in 2006?

Because America won the Olympics in 2008.

QUICK QUESTION:

I don't have espn classic and I want to watch the game against Croatia tomorrow. Is the game being broadcast on another espn channel at the same time? I am aware that it is being played again later that night, but I don't want to wait that long to watch it.

It could be on NBATV if you have that channel. There are other sites where you could stream the game, but I would get suspended for trying to help you.

I'm 99% sure that espn3.com will be airing it live. I'm in the same dilemma, I don't have ESPN Classic anymore and don't want to wait to watch the re-air. ESPN3.com says that it'll be playing it, but there have been instances before where it would be a blank screen. So just hope for the best

And... c'mon, don't make me talk about what happened in Beijing... I'll just say that I reccomend your players to take a look at the FIBA rules before playing a game.

Get the **** over yourself. You, and the rest of Spain. Are you already leaking your excuses for if you don't beat us this year?

A free piece of advice: enjoy the games. There's always time for making up excuses later. Always freaks me out how people waste their times trying to impose their views on something which is absolutely debatable "XXX is gonna win by 20 every game" "no one could beat us if YYY and ZZZ hadn't pulled out" instead of watching the tournament unravel.

Hell, if one of Spain, Greece or USA is the best team in the world, they've got their chance to prove it now. I can't say if they will, but what I can assure is: it will be on the court, not on some Internet board. You know, the score is still kept by baskets made, not by (dumb) posts written.

I'm looking forward to that fateful semi-final game between USA and Spain just to have one side of the fanaticals fall flat on their faces. It's gotten so bad I don't even care what side. And if both teams lose and some true underdog like Canada or Lebanon wins it all, I'll be all the happier.

Because America won the Olympics in 2008.

What part of "None of the players on the current US roster participated in Beijing 2008" don't you understand?

What about you? Will you stop being so arrogant some day?

Well you are arrogant with the dumb excuses ,USA is the better team that's the fact 8-)

Those may be excuses, but it's the truth. Isn't it true that we played horribly in the first half and we only lost by 1?

If you're the best team in THE WORLD, how come you don't win a World Championship since 1994? SPAIN IS THE BEST TEAM, we won in 2006. I'm sorry, try again.

You have a problem dude, try to fix it.

To help you see the matter here:
Both at world Champ 2006 and at Olympics 2008 the teams had played basketball.
USA won this of 2008. It was basketball. It was not Olympic basketball. Just basketball.
So the last team who won a basketball event, is USA. So the best team is USA.

Now the 2010 World Champ is also a basketball event. They would not play world championship basketball. They would play basketball.

I hope i helped you with the obvious.

China looked a lot better than I expected.
Playing zone for a whole game was a little weird, and they gave up way too many three's as a result.
Still, they look like they can advance.
And they looked so bad just a few days ago.

Well nice start for Lithuania 92-79 win over New Zeland. Now the scariest thing is that our main center got injured, yet we don't know how bad the injury is. Hope he's able to finish the tournament if not... Well we'll have to go small by puttin our PF's at C. Damn :|
Also Kleiza was on fire scoring 27 points in 3 quarters.

It's an insult to call this the USA's "B" Team at best it's their "C" team (in actuality it's a combination of their C and D teams).
