Chapman Throwing 105mph

Post#1 » by SargentBargs101 » Sat Aug 28, 2010 4:40 am

"ed_price 2 hours ago reds feed Aroldis Chapman tonight hit 105 mph and "sat at" 103, with a 90-91 slider. Scout: "best fastball I have ever witnessed" #reds"

That is crazy... still can't believe. Is it even possible that a guy can throw 105mph?

Zumaya was clocked at 104.8 mph in 2006.

But that's crazy. That's messed up.

He's going to be a devastating reliever if his arm holds up. But he still shouldn't be a reliever, unless they feel that his mechanics prohibit pitching in the rotation.

Chapman might as well make his appointment with Dr. Andrews now, beat the rush.

I'm guessing faulty radar gun or the atmospheric conditions were incredibly unique that day, no way he threw 105

I have no comment besides the fact that the quote in your sig is absurd. It totally derails me every time I read a thread in which you've posted.

I don't post there much but I read the CA board for some masochistic reason. It's crazy.

Why is it so hard to believe? We've seen some pitchers routinely hit 102-103, so its not "OMG MUST BE FAKE!!!" if someone can go 2 more mph.

because that 2 more mph is a lot, its like saying some one ran a 100 metres in 9 seconds and we're not supposed to be skeptical just because its "only" .58 seconds faster. And pitchers don't routinely hit 103 either, i remember reading somewhere in a Strasburg article that only 2 other pitchers have ever hit that number with documented evidance

Good question....lol
Basketball is driven by three principles:

1) Movement 2) Application of fundamentals 3) Predictability
