Who was the PG we signed short term a few years ago when AD was hurt. He was a little speedy dude.

Mike Wilks? He didn't play much but he was certainly "a little speedy dude."

Wilks, that was it. My bad. Had the wrong little dude

As for what is N1on5.
N1on5 is was Nick Young. Instead of N1 because Nick would get the ball and go 1 on 5.

Hughes was like the original on the fast break. He would regularly pass up a more open players to force it himself so I just to call him Superman. You could just count on it. Later CB took up the role as he transformed from CB tough juice to whatever he was when we traded him.

Obama, who turned 49 on Wednesday, took to the court for a game with a stunning list of all-stars, including Grant Hill, Shane Battier, Carmelo Anthony, Chauncey Billups, Derek Fisher, LeBron James, Earvin "Magic" Johnson, Maya Moore, Alonzo Mourning, Chris Paul, Derrick Rose, Bill Russell, Etan Thomas, Dwyane Wade and David West. The game was closed to the media.

:o Obviously Michael Shear doesn't know enough about basketball when he mentions all-stars & Etan Thomas in the same paragraph. Nevertheless, I am puzzled as to why Etan was at this event.

I think Etan is pretty politically active and he was in Washington with a lot of free time during Obama's first year in office.

Am I psychic? Years back when Haywood was coming off the bench and EJ was starting Etan, I posted that I would vote for Etan if he ran for office (but no way should he start over Brendan); or, I could see him as a school principal.

Love or hate his politics, Etan's politically active.

Calling Noah a traitor is pretty foolish. The Noah family is royalty in France.

His father Yannick is the greatest French pro tennis player in the country's history, and the only Frenchman to win the French open. He has also been a major pop star here since the late 80s. He sells out entire stadiums, major major star.

His grandfather was the star of the french national soccer team and is also a national hero. Joakim has been in the media over here since he was a kid, and is followed extremely closely. He's the offspring of arguably the most successful sports family in modern french history.

The guy was born in NYC because his mother/father have a home in NYC, but home-wise and history wise he's as french as they come. To call him a traitor is a bit much and way over the top. Please don't go into a "move to France" vibe. The US has been taking his and his father's taxes happily for the past 40 years.

There were several Euro teams interested in Pech and Maccabi (sp?) was also interested. Pech was a Euro player all along.

Caron Butler's blog from HoopsHype.

For the most I’ve been in Washington DC and Racine, Wisconsin working on my body, doing a lot of agility stuff and working on my explosiveness.

So Caron still keeps a home in the DC Area (I assume), interesting.

One prediction of mines comes true. I said after he was drafted Pech would likely be out of the league after his rookie contract.

I don't think he's coming back either.

It was nice knowing you "Stewie"!

Aron Phillips, dimemag.com wrote:Two weeks ago, I had Oleksiy Pecherov on my list of Top 5 NBA Free Agents Under 25 Years Old. Well, it appears at least one team in Europe read that list as well. According to The Hoops Market, the 24-year-old Ukrainian is headed to play for Olimpia Armani Jeans Milano in Italy after playing in the NBA for the last three years with the Wizards and Timberwolves.

Dat, you were right and I was wrong about Pecherov. After initially hating the selection (Millsap would have been just a teensy bit better) of Pecherov, I thought he Oleksiy would be a serviceable NBA big because he could rebound and shoot. WRONG!

(As I say this I realize I've gone out on a limb saying Yi will contribute and have a career year. Man, is he a bit similar to Stewie or what?)

Can't believe Kwame and MJ are hooking up again. The sad part is he can probably really help the 'Cats once they waive Dampier.

Too bad Doug Collins is off the FA market....

I was just going to come in here and post about that. That really surprised me. Michael Jordan must either really believe in him or he's nuts. I'm going to go with the idea that he's not really that great of a manager. Didn't he learn from the first time around?
To do list
==========
1. Fire Ernie Grunfield
2. Get a GM who doesn't screw the fans all the time
3. Beat the Cavaliers in the playoffs
4. Get the no.1 draft pick
5. Get John Wall

I think MJ signing Kwame brings to mind a stock trading analogy. It is like buying a stock for $100, selling it at $5 and then having a chance to buy it for $2. While there is a reason that the stock is selling for $2 for a reason, the stock trader at some level is tempted by the "a can get a $100 stock for only $2".

Have there been any other number 1 picks under 30 who have signed for the vet minimum? I know Joe Smith signed with the Hawks for the minimum, but he is near the end of his career and probably could have made more elsewhere chasing cash.

Etan Thomas to the Hawks, they need his swinging elbows.

Amazing, Juan Dixon always finds a way to get considered by NBA GM's, this-time the Cavs.

If needed any more evidence that Cleveland's management is clueless. Wouldn't Delonte West be a better option, even with all his issues.

Jarvis Hayes could continue his career overseas. According to the Israeli media, the 29-year-old forward has been offered to Maccabi Tel Aviv for the next season. Hayes, who has played during his entire career in the NBA, would be now in the list of candidates to join Maccabi, along with the New Zealander player Kirk Penney. In the 2009-10 season, Hayes averaged 7.8 points and 2.4 rebounds per game for the New Jersey Nets. thehoopsmarket.com
